Whatever you do, avoid the 3.0L SC V6. It's not smooth, doesn't sound good and can't touch the torque the 5.0L makes. 5.0L is a great engine for towing, sounds good and is pretty smooth. Does your wife have the 400HP AWD Q50 3.0TT? I couldn't get past the drive by wire steering when I drove one. A huge departure from the hefty hydraulic steering in the first gen G35. Dealer put wrong fluid in rear locker...what to do?
I'm definitely going to request at least one year warranty, or just tell them to put another one in. Do you think I should worry it messed up the driveshaft or transfer case if it was binding up?- Fields Carlisle

That was my problem. I haven't put it back on because it was making the transmission jerk and downshift all weirdly. I actually logged the spike you're talking about. I definitely want to keep the exact same routing of the exhaust so it is not another thing to get ripped off when going to crazy steep inclines that cause the rear bumper to touch the ground. You can look them up... Velocity AP. They are big in the British car brand tuning scene (well, as big as they could be with a smaller brand like JLR/Aston), but tiny in comparison to the companies like APR or Unitronic.- Fields Carlisle

You definitely can flash tunes on a supercharged engine, that's how JLR's 3.0L V6 is offered in 340, 380 and 400hp versions. They're not making each version different than the other. I did a muffler delete on my V8 LR4 and after about a week put it back to stock because it was so loud. I bet the V6 isn't as loud as forced induction usually takes away a little bit of the noise anyway. Do you know if the exhaust diameter is smaller on the V6 than it was on the V8? I'm under warranty for another 2 years on this new (to me) LR4. My other LR4 I used Amsoil in it just fine. If it were me, I'd like to run a German Castrol (true synthetic, not American "synthetic") but they only produce it in 5W-30 or 5W-40.
