WHAT WOULD YOU DO!? BUYING MY FIRST LR4...

If I were shopping specifically for an LR4 right now I'd patiently seek out a nice 2013 - no timing chain issues and the newest/last year of the V8. But if I were just shopping for a Rover right now I'd be looking at a '14-'15 RRS since it still has the V8 and newer everything else.

    maintenance history since new 2013

Strut singular, or both fronts? I'm impressed you're still on original LCAs.

Morimoto XB Led Fog Light Install

That's cool. Morimoto is good stuff - I used their projectors to retrofit my '05 F150 some years back.

Your thoughts on these LR4 rims/wheels?

True - odd, when you think about it. Nobody wants to buy a 19" wheel unless they NEED a 19" wheel. Seems like they'd be more expensive as singles because of that.

Your thoughts on these LR4 rims/wheels?

At that price if they hold air it's an absolute STEAL. Get them now before someone else does. I've had to replace three 20x9.5" wheels on my wife's RRS in the past two years (never had a flat tire or damaged a wheel before this car - now she apparently loves running into shit) and I've paid more...

Colored markings on new tires explained

Cool - I look forward to feedback on the tires. I have a friend that put them on his wife's big Infiniti (can't remember the model - the huge ugly SUV) and he can't say enough good stuff about them. He's in rural New Jersey - not sure if he's seen snow with them yet, but he encounters mild mud...

    2012 LR4 Speaker Replacement

One in my passenger rear door was blown when I got mine, I found an OEM replacement on eBay and swapped it out. I didn't have or make any kind of walk-through on removing that door panel, it was pretty easy as I've done many door panel removals in the past. Basically just gently popping clips...

    Very high idle, 2800 RPM

Just change the fuggin battery - I've done it without doing the computer reset and doing it - absolutely no noticeable difference in battery life. You'll be fine not telling the computer you changed it.

    LR4 Navigation Update...

I use Keith Morrison (from Dateline) in Waze to make my navigation instructions extra creepy.

    ACDelco Oil Filter

I'm sure the Chinese plant that stamps out the garbage Land Rover filter is much more discerning than the (likely exact same) Chinese plant that stamps out the AC Delco one.

    ACDelco Oil Filter

I wouldn't hesitate - the OEM filter is kind of a cheap turd, it's likely better than they are. If not, I doubt it's any worse.

Green/Orange/Factory LCA Bushings from Atlantic British?

Oh HELL yeah I would've payed $260 for that. I would have payed considerably more now that I've done it. My dude wanted about $1500 not including parts. I wasn't willing to go that far.

    Parking brake fault...

Damn. I wonder where it is for it to be that hard to change. I just stopped using mine because the damn shoes would rust into place and get stuck. I'd have to rock back and forth from reverse to drive until they'd pop loose. Don't set it, it don't get stuck, LOL.

Green/Orange/Factory LCA Bushings from Atlantic British?

The end links are connected to the upper control arms, not the lower. That's irrelevant information, though - once the wheel's out of the way they just unbolt on either end, easy-peasy. The swaybar bushings are kind of annoying, though, because the skid plate is in the way and it's heavy and has...

Green/Orange/Factory LCA Bushings from Atlantic British?

I thought we did that when we were calling each other assholes. Yes, the poly bushings will firm it up a bit. The green ones are a bit stiffer, I consider them just right. Not offensively stiff or rough. Yeah, that's why they fail so early on the LR4 and RRS - the rubber around the juice...

LR4 Suspension Adjustments with Added Weight

Yep, it'll handle itself. It's kind of awesome when I hook up my car trailer with around 700lb tongue weight and then start it up -- ass drops like crazy when I hook it, then when the engine starts it pops right back up to perfectly level.

    Diagnostic Tool options/differences

IIDTool is the most common among members here by a long shot. Search, you'll find shitloads of threads about it. The others are probably good, too, but on small forums like this the majority follows the majority - so when the IIDTool got a head-start the lead kept growing. I will say their...

Green/Orange/Factory LCA Bushings from Atlantic British?

Yeah, I didn't really know the firmness comparatively, either. I mean, they can say it's the same/harder/softer than stock but you don't really know -- you know they probably aren't poking the damn things with a durometer or doing any super-strict comparisons. I got the green because that's...

Green/Orange/Factory LCA Bushings from Atlantic British?

That's where I'm at, you just said it better. I love mine and the wife loves hers, but there are a few parts that are crap and can be improved. I'm game for improving them since there aren't a ton, but I'm gonna ***** about them and not pretend they don't exist. I wish there was a better fix for...

"Service Required" alert in my display

LOL, mine won't go away either. The ***** of it for me is that I have an IIDTool married to mine, it just can't seem to reset it. I can reset the warning on the wife's vehicle (for which the IIDTool can only do that and a couple of other things like pairing key fobs,) but it won't do it on mine...

Green/Orange/Factory LCA Bushings from Atlantic British?

I didn't spend more money than OEM, I spent a little bit less - not a lot less, but some. So even if they last less time I'm ahead (as long as it isn't a lot less,) but I'm betting they'll last longer. Ball joints last a long time. Steel arms last essentially forever. The only questionably...

Green/Orange/Factory LCA Bushings from Atlantic British?

I didn't use the poly bushings because I want to vroom vroom, I used them because I never want to have to remove those pot-metal garbage corroded-in-place asshole control arm bolts ever again if I can help it. One of my four magically slid right out, the other three I had to cut out. Even with...
