LR4 Black Front Grille
I had the front grille and side vents professionally painted. No powder coating on plastic unless you want it to melt. Paid roughly $150 for all of it. Plastidip is not a good idea over time has dust and mud will be impossible to remove. -

True. However these things that were standards weren't used by the majority of people so in 2014 Land Rover decided to make them optional for better or for worse. Do you guys truly expect prices to remain the same as time goes by? 7 years since the introduction of the LR4 (closer to 8 really) and the price goes up... inflation and better equipment will explain most of it and demand will explain the rest.- AxelR

Found an LR4, a couple pre-purchase questions...
Umbertob is correct on 2010 and 2011 the 4x4 screen shows 2 lockers even when you do not have the rear locker installed. It changed with the new infotainment system in 2012 which actually shows the correct amount of lockers (1 or 2). -

Duratracs are good in snow. Soft compound works well with really low temps. -

Truck will drive straight that's a given (as long as it was before lifting). If you do not care about road handling and tire wear (as well as lower mpg) don't get an alignment. If you do then please get your "lifted" truck a proper alignment. -

LR4 Favorite Year?
Slightly off topic but for the ones who have a 2012, how slow is your infotainment system. I click on a button and it takes what seems to be forever to actually get to the next screen. My 2010 was much faster than this however it didn't look as "nice". -

I understand that we do not all like the new design. I like the front and sides but hate the back. However the LR4 design dates back to 2004/5 it was definitely time for a change. Prep for Timing Chain Guides Work
Mileage 51k. Engine light on. Fault code P0018 (crankshaft). No real symptoms. No sound to be heard. Clicking was coming from fan. Job was just under $6k but included the air compressor as well. So probably $4.5/$5k for engine work. You do get a free oil change with this ;) -
