You wouldn't be able to install the sliders properly if you had the newer version of the compressor. However LR did install the new version pretty early on. In my case, I had to swap the compressor and they installed the new (lower) version.
That's pretty much as big as it gets in my opinion.
Lift or no lift you always end up being limited by the frame horns and the wheel inner wells.
There's a British company which sells a full lock limiter/reducer. In other words prevents the tires from rubbing the frame horns.
Compos and...
I am aware of the difference of offset (44 vs 53). Even though it does give you a slightly wider stance, it is not comparable to the 1.25" (or bigger) spacer.
Your post was about spacers only ;)
I'm aware of the rest and don't use rods.
If you were to get a proper alignment even with rods your suspension would not pull inward as you call it (I did that when I was using the IIDTool for a lift). I would highly recommend that you get one, if you...
They actually have a higher load rating than the OEM size at 114. They do great.
They have a lower speed rating (S).
You'll have to run them at 40psi or more on road (I do 44). I haven't had to air down on sand (even deep and soft) but I have aired down for better comfort in rocks.
They're pretty soft indeed. However your picture makes me think that you should try a higher air pressure than what you're currently running.
Don't stick with LR recommendation and maybe have it the same front and back. You could try 40 or 42...
Mine can get up to 50psi and I run them around...
I did have to grind the calipers (front) when using the 1.25" spacers and never cut the frame horn (look in your front wheel well - frame extensions built to prevent the tires to enter the driver and passenger compartment).
Even with the Compos and the 265/65R18 the frame horns are a problem...
I used to have LR3 rims on my LR4.
You will need spacers all around. I still have a set in Boston if you want them.
Depending on what size tire you decide to go with you will hit the frame horn when at full lock.
Go with at least 1.25" or more than 32mm. You will love the stance much nicer...
Yes all four doors should open and close without having to use the key as long as you've enabled the passive entry feature.
Try to follow Umberto's advice.
Hey all,
After off-roading out here in the south west and hitting Moab this past weekend, I'm considering adding some rock sliders. Even though careful wheel placement has been key to not needing them until now, I have a feeling that moment may be getting closer.
It seems that the general...
Hey David,
Based on Disco Mike advise I will run the same pressure front and rear.
I'm gonna test 40psi which is 80% of max pressure. If need be I'll try 42 and 44 again.
Load rating is 114 on these. The load range is SL. They're very flexible and really solid at the same time.
At 36/42 they, I can see them flex when going over rocks.
I probably should run around 34 all around for most of the offroading I do.
Discount Tire advised not to go lower than 34. I...
I've been running the same pressure all around at 44psi for city/highway driving.
However when off-roading I go down to 36/42...
Is there a reason for sticking with the same pressure all around even though LR recommends to run lower front...
Thank you
PS I will try the 40 you recommend for...
I have the DT in 265/65R18. I looooove them.
Off-road they're difficult to beat being a mix of mud terrain and all terrain tire.
On-road they handle great as long as you inflate them correctly. And that will probably require some playing with. The rubber they're made of heats up really...
I agree with jwest.
Land Rover initially set the pressure at 44psi after installing the new tires on the Compos (max on DuraTrac in 265/65R18 is 50psi) and it felt great for freeway driving. Very stable and not really noisy at all.
I went off-roading and set the pressure at 38/43 hot which...
