    LR5 Release Updates?

Dan, isn't the issue that this set of specs for towing is due to the built in folding tow hook set up? I thought we wouldn't get that set up for NA Discos.

    2013 LR4 New tire question

Very pleased with the Nokian WRG3, heading into our second winter and they've been great all year round. Quite, good ride and great traction. Left them on for a very hot summer and no significant wear yet. I've had similar experience with Nokian's hard core snows (Hakka R) over 5+ years. Only...

2nd time stranded in 5 months!

^ Thanks. I was getting around 3+ years per battery on our LR3 over the last 10 years. Plenty of temperature variance, car parked outside, and ~12k miles per year. Two seems really low, even for these cars.

2nd time stranded in 5 months!

^ Same here, have had the clock change to military time recently quite a lot. Our LR4 has only 20k miles and is just getting to two years old. Even for LRx cars that is early to need a new battery.

    Winter prep anyone?

Lift? Johnson Rods? Spacers? I think 285s would rub for me and might be too wide for the stock LR3 18" wheels.

    Winter prep anyone?

What size Grabbers do you run?

For those of us that miss the Pirelli ATR, check out this new tire...

Thanks for posting, I am considering putting these on the LR3 (with 18s in 265/60-18.)

Thanks Axel. Will try and stay under 95! ;)

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

Thanks guys. I live in Denver and the weather can range from very warm in the winter to 1-2 feet of snow. Where there is snow it tends to be dry, not heavy/slushy although that does sometimes happen. I don't want to do dedicated snow tires, hence my question. Looking for an AT tire that works...

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

I have skimmed the thread but didn't see this addressed - any experience with Duratracs in the snow? I have been running GY Silent Armors and they've been great, but was thinking of trying the Duratracs since the SA is no longer in production (haven't heard much about its replacement either.)

    First Impressions (Going from MY13 LR4/NAV8 to MY16 LR4/SCV6)

Sounds like you are also in CO? Power loss is around ~3% per 1,000 feet of elevation, holding all other factors constant. A normally aspirated motor cannot adjust for this, a forced induction (SC/turbo) can. Not completely but mostly. So the SCV6 is close if not at parity with the 8 at our...

    First Impressions (Going from MY13 LR4/NAV8 to MY16 LR4/SCV6)

^ Agree with that, fresh bushings/tie rods and other pieces likely helping with the buttoned up feel. I'm not aware of any material changes to the LR4 suspension throughout the production years. We have an LR3 and a 15 LR4 and the difference is even more drastic. At altitude the SCV6 also works...

    Complete shut down

Mine was suspected to be a bad oxygen or MAF sensor but never proven since so faults were stored.

    Second Row Sun-shade.

Almost 10 years and loads of miles with LR3 and 4 and never had a problem. BTW, what does the HD package have to do with a sunshade?

    Preferred washer fluids?

Plain old washer juice plus a shot of this cuts through everything, even caked on mag chloride/sand combo they douse our roads with here in CO. https://www.amazon.com/P21S-11250F-Booster-Measure-Bottle/dp/B002LOUJ4A

    Complete shut down

Never determined the cause, they thought it was an oxygen sensor or something similar. Don't recall the exact reference.

    Complete shut down

FWIW, this happened to our LR3, driving up a steep mountain pass on the highway and it just shutoff without warning. Thankfully restarted after a couple minutes and never recurred. Terrifying experience, almost drove us away from the brand altogether.

    LR5 Release Updates?

Diesel is more popular in Europe largely because it is subsidized and lack of regulations around diesel particulate / NOx emissions. The technology has come a long way, and apart from the annoying urea injection systems (something else to service regularly) they generally provide a good...

    2016 LR4 Intelligent stop/start not working

Check the charge on the smaller battery dedicated to this "feature", ours died without warning.

    Transmission program - 2016 LR4 - landmark

No issues with our '15, I think it does very well, flatlands or steep passes. I only use the manual shifting option when going down steeper grades to get more engine braking.

    LR5 Release Updates?

Should be interesting to see how LR4 prices trend between now and deliveries next summer. Another note, regarding weight, folks should be manage their expectations when it comes to weight savings. No doubt it will be significantly lighter than the "dual chassis/frame" LR4, but note how they...

    LR5 Release Updates?

Look longer than the 4, certainly will have a longer rear overhang (front overhand also appears slightly longer as well). Wonder what that will mean for approach/departure angles? Also curious to see how they will handle the two hitch. Happy to see the seating flexibility will remain, and have...
