    New AMK Compressor

@CMGRover - If you are switching from the hitatchi compressor to the AMK, you need a new insulation box and a new software flashed into your EAS ECU by Land rover. The larger air compressor box comes with some AMK sales and not others. If you have sliders that come into the frame and protect...

    expectations of repair costs

I didnt notice the 1" drop/day until mine sat for a week at the airport. IT was resting on the bump stops when I got home. Then I pulled the EAS fuse and measured each corner, and again 24 hours later and discovered the 1"/day rate. My leak was only this bad in the winter (<40F). Glad I...

    expectations of repair costs

Mine didnt have any errors for 10-12 months until the compressor wore out and started getting "slow raising" messages. My compressor runs noticeably less often now. The compressor used run from the time I started it up and drove out of the neighborhood (~2 min). Now it shuts off before I...

    expectations of repair costs

Even most LR shops will just throw a new compressor and/or strut at it even when that cant pinpoint the leak with soapy water spray bottle. Two LR dealers wanted to replace my struts. I had this for years and wore out a couple compressors working against a slow leak. Mine would sink an 1" per...

The obligatory "Show off your LR3' thread

I have run it without the rack, but the duratracs may subtly mask any noise that it makes (agreed it cant be zero). I usually run all windows up or fully down and had not any bad experiences.

    Do you use CCFL headlights?

YES - This Friday is the land rover Uwarrie Safari in NC. There is always an organized night ride. Wheeling at night is a very different experience. Its tough to shoot pics or video at night, so never seem to have may good shots: If I were to do the LED rings again, I would only do the...

    Do you use CCFL headlights?

I used Circuit-on-board (COB) led rings. They are cheap and very bright. Order and extra set as spare. I had one die in the 1st week, but been solid since. 100mm in the headlights, 80mm in the fogs: 100% brightness (get a DRL controller to dim 50% when headlights are on)...

I have had a couple racks - the OEM rack is noticeably quieter. I barely hear it over the tires.

    After market GPS ideas

I have a garmin solution in my SE, but its not cheap or easy or even in production anymore. I was able to get 2015 maps for only $95. You could probably still find the components on ebay and amazon - some discounted nicely. Kenwood G510, KOSL702, and KOSV500 Video feed from overhead...

    06 LR3, High Compressor usage

My compressor had been replace twice by land rover and one of the techs must have decided the top mounting bolt was too much of a PITA (it was missing). Seems solid enough with the two easy access bolts. Because of the compressor vibrations, make sure to use a little locktite for good measure.
