Nifty use for plastidip - pre trail run

Great idea for my NEXT truck. Way too late for ths one. I was figuring on just getting one already with pinstripping, but this is a good alternative. I have heard of people doing wraps and large magnet sheets for protection too.

    Overheating... Completely at a loss.

You are at the stealership's mercy for keys and alignments, but everything else you can do at home or independent shops.

Duratrac S or Q speed rating

Bummer about the duratracs, but glad I just bought 3 to utilize my spare. Unless there are some seriously discontinued discounts, its probably good time for me to try something new anyway.

    2006 LR3 aftermarket radio

Agreed the AUX jack the is best route (better than FM). You will run into an age old problem of the aux volume level being lower than other sources. google for alternative solutions to increase volume.

Who has slept in their LR3?

This is an even better sleeping solution when raining or snowing. What CO? Unless you have removed your cats you are safe. bring a smoke/CO detector with you if concerned. I have slept in sub 0 weather with the engine running heat on, and was only worried about a transmission line or coolant...

installing rear camera and best product

That is not a "problem". my system take a solid 8 sec to boot too. I have it wired to the circuits that power on when the remote lock is triggered. by the time I get to the car, start the truck, it is typically instantly ready to display. 5% of the time when I dont have to unlock the truck...

installing rear camera and best product

B is ok if you don't have/need home link and auto wipers. I intentionally got an lr3 that didn't have navigation. I use kenwood v1000 and a 8 inch screen. If I was to redo it today, I might mount mini tablet in that cubby. Not sure how to get back up camera on a tablet, but I'm sure it's been...

What Tires for LR3 after Pirelli Scorpion ATR 255/55R19 discontinuation

I ran a set of General AT2's though tough winter (about 12 feet of snow that season). They did great in snow! I would bet the Blizzaks would only do better on icy surfaces.

    New LR3 owner with questions

I dont know if those seals are serviceable, please let us know how you make out. I cut off my tailpipes just in front of the rear axle for additional off road clearance. I also like the 5% louder exhaust sound, but I can only hear it with the windows down. No body else ever notices.

Who has slept in their LR3?

I do a couple times a year when exploring with friends ...Its way more comfortable and easier than a tent. I created a couple screens for the back windows. A roll of screen door material, roll of magnet strip, and some hot glue: My back windows are also additionally tinted. If you want...

    LR3 alternator replacement cost

I also paid ~$160 for aftermarket (drop shipped) and $315 labor installed at a generic independent shop. I typically only use these guys for oil changes and wheel installs, but they said this alternator install required no land rover specific tools or skills. Also- Im not sure "low power...

    No, I don't need gas!

Do not know - Never run out.

    No, I don't need gas!

I do. :-( I get $1/gal discount once a month - Just paid $1.01/gal for premium this week. If I run it down to near the bottom, I can fill up my LR3 just once a month. I have definitely saved on fuel enough to pay for any possible fuel pump problem (knock wood).

    No, I don't need gas!

Does all this "extra" reserve have to do with the submerged fuel pump needing cooling from the last 1/4 tank? I know some pumps have heat sinks in the bottom of the tank, but it still needs some fuel to keep those covered. The engineer that originally proposed an electric pump inside the gas...

    Change Paint Colour on LR3

Please dont. Tonga is awesome and there are already lots of black ones. I think you would get better results from swapping trucks.

Rear Sounder - Parking Aid Sensor Issue

Where in the truck is that speaker? What side of the ocean are you on? Lots of places to buy parts on both sides. I just placed the wire harness for the sensors last weekend. One of my plugs got damaged when the bumper skin was ripped off. I think I shed 30lbs of mud cleaning out the bumper.

    After market lights.

There is a rubber grommet above the break peddle. I find its easier to push a wire from the cabin into the engine bay and find where it comes out behind the brake booster.
