Oversize tires for 2020 Defender
Broader appeal is the reason for offering the choice in wheels. Honestly it’s all a moot point when they do offer an 18” wheel. If you read up on anyone who has talked to the engineers about the Defender, it’s clear that they did intend for this to be an off road vehicle. They clearly wanted the braking performance to be there from the factory. I don’t see any reason that the smaller brakes won’t fit, just like the LR3...- m_lars

Yeah, and we’ve all seen you can add a swing out to the LR3/4. But now you’ve got a 3 step process to fully open the rear door. I liked the swing door on our D2. I didn’t have a problem opening it in our garage. -

Just playing a little devils advocate here, your opinion is your opinion. But why not build what you can build reasonably and apply the saved funds for something that you might not be able to build? I can build a roof rack, I can’t pull off building sliders. -

The reason to get the Land Rover specific scan tool (I have the Gap Diagnostics tool which I whole heartedly endorse) is that it will give you the specific codes to track it down. Thanks, I appreciate that. I also installed a harbor freight winch plate hidden in the front bumper. I stole that idea from an LR4 owner who had a pretty good write up on it. Simply not true. I’ve done it, maybe cost me a couple hundred bucks. It has thousands of miles with lots of gear (33” spare, 3 Plano boxes, tepui RRT) on top and it’s held up just fine. Should everybody do it? No, but let’s not make blanket statements that aren’t true. -
