Will I still be able to drive these tires with a suspension fault?

I have ride height programmed to +30mm with the GAPtool.

Will I still be able to drive these tires with a suspension fault?

Yeah, I’m going to disagree with the real world application of this. I’m not sure why you took the cheap shot about only being worried about looks, I hope that wasn’t meant for me. I live at 5600 ft, work at 7200 ft and go ‘wheeling regularly near 10,000 ft. I wish I could have gone bigger than...

Will I still be able to drive these tires with a suspension fault?

I guess mine is magic. Diameter is not the only determining factor. If I ran a 275 or 285 with the same overall diameter I’m sure I’d have problems, that’s why I went tall and (relatively) skinny.

Will I still be able to drive these tires with a suspension fault?

Was that for me? It turns fine, biggest clearance issue is the pinch seam in the rear wheel wells. I didn’t need to remove the bolt on frame horns either.

Will I still be able to drive these tires with a suspension fault?

I run 265/70/18 Cooper S/T Maxx and I can still move on the bump stops. Cooper says they are 32.87” overall diameter. I had to flatten the pinch seam and it rubs the liner in the rear, but it will still drive.

    Hummer EV

I don’t doubt it, I feel like you think I’m disagreeing with you. I do see value in these vehicles in the innovation aspect of them. The by the way comment of mine you quoted was referring to the NEED to have SEVERAL Jerry cans of gas to explore southern Utah, which you don’t. Recommended...

    Hummer EV

I get what your saying and completely agree. I have no interest in an EV personally and honestly see all of this stuff as experimental. As much as I hate to see the internal combustion engine phased out, it’s coming.

    Hummer EV

Funny you should mention southern Utah along with the rivian. Monday night I was having a supper at the restaurant my wife manages and had a conversation with our server about my Land Rover. He was a former Jeep guy and his significant other has a GX that he had just started working on. Anyway...

    Hummer EV

I haven’t looked into them much. The chatter I’ve heard sounds good, but there seem to be questions if they’ll make it to market? Honestly I am not a fan of EV’s, I chimed in on this thread because it started about the same time ExPo had a post on the Hummer EV and the email caught my attention.

Where to find a used hiddenwinch

Are you handy with tools? You can make one out of a Harbor Freight winch tray. There’s a “how to” for the LR4 on expedition portal. I’ve done the same thing on my 3.

Rigid spring installation vs air struts

Keep the EAS. I replaced my original front struts at 180k with used ones due to a budget crunch at the time, rears are still original at 235k. I’m starting to get a little wobble from one (or more) of the shocks finally losing their ability to dampen. The coil over kits are not that much cheaper...

Lr4 cruiser or lc4? LR take notes

After reading seemingly never ending posts on how amazingly incredibly reliable the land cruiser is on Instagram. I was curious how it was rated by somewhere impartial, so I looked it up on repair pal. I was shocked to find it was rated 2 1/2 stars vs 2 stars on the LR4! Given how much the...

    Hummer EV

I look at this a bit different living next to and working in a resort town where people have multimillion dollar second or third homes and $100-200k in vehicles sitting in the garage waiting for them to come to town. Given its price and HP/torque specs it’s the perfect vehicle for the place...

2020 defender off road pack - rear locker

That’s nice you can import 10 years sooner than the states. My statement was a little hyperbolic, but not too much. There was a decent looking 110 locally that was $32k, no idea what motor. There are plenty of examples on KSL, the Salt Lake City classifieds, that are $100-$200k all refurbished.

New or old, they seem to cost about the same!

18’s with 265/65/18. Traction control engaging on highway corners.

I run 265/70/18 Cooper S/T Maxx on my LR3 and have no issues like you do. I would be suspect of wheel bearings given your description of the problem. If the bearing is loose it can cause enough deflection of the ABS ring to make the vehicle think it’s lost traction.

2020 defender off road pack - rear locker

The difference between the LR4 and the new Defender is that Land Rover has made it clear the new Defender is targeted at the off road segment, unlike the LR4. True, there is not much aftermarket yet, but what company has been able to get ahold of one? That’s just starting now and there will be...

2020 defender off road pack - rear locker

Those are belly button vehicles, everyone’s got one. There are literally more raptors around me than regular f-150s. Wranglers? 3 in every parking lot. I have no doubt the Defender will be supported very well by the aftermarket. When that happens you’ll get ARB lockers front and rear. However...

2020 defender off road pack - rear locker

Given how hard/nearly impossible it is to add a factory locker to the LR3 I can’t imagine they made it any easier on the new defender. It certainly wouldn’t be practical.

Maxing Out Off-Road Ability on 19" Wheels (yep, tires again)

It’s a bit of a misconception that a higher load rating is “stronger”. Yes, it carries more weight, but it’s not necessarily more cut or pinch proof. I live nestled in between the Wasatch and Uinta mountains of Utah and deal with a lot of sharp, pointy rocks. In my research the Wildpeak has a...

    Oversize tires for 2020 Defender

18” wheels, ~1900 payload and 7700 towing capacity. The V6 also has the ability to run 17” wheels due to smaller rotors and caliper brackets, the calipers are the same. Unfortunately, finding 17” wheels (that fit) in the US is tough. But again, the 3 is an old vehicle and had different...

    Oversize tires for 2020 Defender

I knew what you meant, I was talking in terms of braking performance required by governing bodies. Maybe it has nothing to do with governing bodies, but that Land Rover knows their customer base. I’m way more comfortable with the abilities of some dude to slow down towing an excavator in an old...

    Oversize tires for 2020 Defender

That would make sense. Standards must have changed in that regard. Back when I was a landscaper the duramax trucks we had were 16” wheels, but those were early 2000’s trucks.

    Oversize tires for 2020 Defender

I also get your point, they should offer a more offroadable wheel size on all engine types, but a brake change is not modding the hell out of it. For the LR3 it’s literally brake caliper brackets and rotors, the equivalent of a brake job. From what I’ve read/heard it’s very apparent that Land...
