    Another Defender hint?

Still not much meat, but this is the Speth interview referred to above. https://europe.autonews.com/automakers/jaguar-land-rover-ceo-speth-outlines-revival-plan

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

You can get the OEM sensors off Rock Auto for a very good price.

    Another Defender hint?

The Tusk ball is scheduled for May 9th at Kensington Palace in the UK - maybe there will be a Defender there and a photo will leak. You know LR already has a special one in queue for the Royals.

    Another Defender hint?

It is a rendering, but all of the lines "make sense" as the curves are in line with all the other LR vehicles and are also the very areas that are all visibly camouflaged on the test mules. It also makes sense when you account for the descriptions given by Jerry McGovern and other LR execs...

    Another Defender hint?

I don't trust most sales managers when it comes to nuanced details - they deal in widgets - cars in/cars out and rarely have a vested interest in the cosmetic or small-feature details. The Tusk image probably does look like the old Defender to him/her, just as much as one could say every Land...

    Should I take the plunge?

If you "would like to get into offroading", I am pretty sure you'll be fine without the HD pack for a while. That comment sounds like it would be an evolution, some light trails and then moderate, etc. Most people don't go from nothing straight to "Blackbear Pass" and so if this LR4 is perfect...

    Another Defender hint?

They say G-Force Sport in your photo (above the 275/35/18), but clearly that tread is not any G-Force line tire (racing, high-performace tires), so who knows what that tire is. The mules in the desert had 255/60/20 (113 load rated) Goodyear All-Terrain Adventure tires - a size that does not...

    Another Defender hint?

Good catch! I think it should be 275/65/18 (32.1" tire) based on the mules in the desert having 255/60/20 tires (32" tires). At 275/35/18 it would be a 25.6" wheel/tire, not even possible. So, clearly this is a photoshopped image, but since it is on the LR website, I am still thinking the...

    Another Defender hint?

"It should give the Mercedes G-Class a run for its money". That satement in the article says volumes about where this thing is going to be priced... I expect there are going to be a lot of variants for this vehicle if JLR can garner enough sales to justify the development of them. That is...

    Another Defender hint?

For those wondering if a "sleeker" Defender is hiding underneath those chiseled hood and roof peices LR has on the mules, I think this may be the answer:

    Another Defender hint?

It looks like we can take the summer off from speculating on the reveal - JLR has acknowledged a September launch timeframe with production commencing early in 2020. Does this mean it will be called a 2021 Defender? https://www.caradvice.com.au/748546/land-rover-defender-air-suspension/

    LR3 Wet Driver's side carpet

There is another possibilty. On my LR3 I had a very weird issue with water filling up my brake booster and causing it to freeze up (zero brakes) in winter. I finally figured out that the main engine seal that goes around the entire circumferance of the engine bay was not pushed up tight at the...

    Another Defender hint?

    Another Defender hint?

So it looks like it was running 255/60/20 (32") tires on this thing. I don't even see any 255/60/20 tires for sale in the US. 275/55/20 is all I see. Maybe that means a 255/70/18 will be a stock option? Obviously people will go bigger and wider, but to meet efficiency standards I am sure LR...

New LR4, Old LR3...what to do?

Most geniuses are somewhat insane, the two often go hand in hand!

    Fuel pump filter

Sounds like the system failed (or it's sensor that would trigger the light). At least you have proof you did what was required since you were on a long journey to get where you are. So that may help get LR to pay for the flight if they cannot fix it there...

    Fuel pump filter

I think LR will be footing that flight bill! Looks like this can happen with the exhaust particulate filter as well if you have a diesel.

New LR4, Old LR3...what to do?

I have over 160k on my 08 LR3 and it is about ready for another set of control arms. Every time a semi-major expense comes up I contemplate a 13 LR4 or 16 Landmark myself, but it's so hard to justify the price when the LR3 still drives great! Plus I don't have that "oh $#@!, where did that new...

    gap tool

I realize you just ordered the Gap tool, but based on what you described (day to day change and off-road changes) the Llams controller may suit you better. You can just dial things up or down at any time based on your needs. I know a bunch of people on the forum use it if you have questions...

$1,200 shipping bill for roof rack.

Correct. Carrier rates are based on a system from a bygone era. "Base rates" are ususally thousands of dollars and then pretty much anyone would get a courtesy 60% discount off those rates. "Shipper" rates would depend on the industry and type of materials being shipped - as mentioned...

    19 " wheels

Well, it really is dependent on sidewall height. For example, the stock 275/40/22 on a RR is on 9.5" wheel where the spec is 9"-11" (10" being ideal). This is akin to the 275/55/19 tire on an LR4 in that both are one size off "ideal" wheel width and one size up from the lowest allowed wheel...

    Trailer Hitch installation...

You mean the hitch is not standard on the RR anymore? I just test drove a 15 LWB (very nice BTW) and I assumed they all had one but it was just under a cover....

    19 " wheels

The 275/55/19 tires are rated for 7.5"-9.5" wheels, they will fit fine on an 8" wheel. They might bulge a hair more but will mount ok and be safe. Unless you were referring to the potential for rubbing because they are a bit wider...
  24. catman

    19 " wheels

Your options will be limited regardless, especially in "beefy". However, the larger sizes available in 19" that will not rub are both about 31" tires, 275/55/19 and 255/60/19. You can search around for other sizes from smaller manufacturers as well - basically things are rub-free until ~31.4"...

Is a d5 a great deal right now?

I tend to agree, there is an oversaturation of very similar models among many brands right now. Rather than all these models, the ability to customize them is probably all that is needed to appease the majority of buyers. Look at all the options Porche offers - anyone can create a...
