It looks like you discovered the obvious, the RR is a notch up from all of those, even the GLS, something about British refinement that is just different than the others. I think it is semantics - you have price point and you will likely max it out (it's human nature to get the most we can)...- catman

Yes I suppose we will know when the Defender is getting close to landing here when we see at least one tire available in this size in the US. Otherwise a 275/55/20 will be a near identical size that would fit close to the same wheel width range. I imagine both sizes could be stock options... -

What your shop is failing to understand is that tire construction has many facets. A higher speed rating on the OEM tires helps compensates for a lower load rating. Most performance tires are not made for 3 ton vehicles and have lower load ratings! And no car manufacturer (non-exotic anyway)... -

LR3 starts shifting weird after dusk (around the time lights come on)
Have you checked your alternator? When they start to fail, they cause all kinds of crazy electrical gremlins, similar to what you have described. If it is orginal, definately replace it as they seem to consistently fail between 8-12 years depending on the use of the LR3. -
