Here is a slightly zoomed out version of the LR teaser image showing the diamond plate part of the hood. This gives the illusion of the hood opening being straight back where the previous images showing it going around the diamond plate part, so I think it is just optics in this case. Based... -

"Debadged" Hood / Bonnet...
I agree. In some cases, well, one case, I think the upbadging is in good fun and shows a sense of humor. You cannot see it in the photo, but there are Cadillac emblems on each side of the rear pillars as well. It was an older couple, so you know it was just damn funny to them to do this. -

Boy those two LR's sure do look naked. Funny how the eye gets trained to see something. If it were never there I would not think twice about it, but somehow something seems missing. I am sure a few weeks without it and that feeling would go away though. -

New 2013 LR4 owner with a couple questions.
If they would not pass a state inspection, they have 'failed'. If there are no sypmtoms (thump noise over bumps or upon hard braking, sterring wheel shimmy when braking, etc) then wait it out - they will "fail" and your warranty will work then. It's not a hard and fast rule but they seem to... -
This is a little odd to me.
I guess it is plausible this is the case. This is roughly $750 US, which is high, but not out of the realm of "normal" for a Land Rover dealer doing the work. If you can find an independent shop in your area that works on Land Rovers, you will likely save some money. OEM brakes on most Land...- catman

Not digging the diamond plate at all - to me it looks silly and forced but I think it will be part of an option package, so I am not too worried about it. My guess is that is captured from some recent filming for upcoming LR media. The diamond plating on the hood seems a bit forced based on the look of the rest of the vehicle. A nod to the past for sure, but it is not working for me in this photo. But, with so many variations and option... -
