Is the LR4 good for daily highway travel?

I am sure the GLE drives great, but it looks like an AMC Eagle. Gotta factor some style points into the puchasing equation as well :)

How many miles on your LR4?

Wow this thread is like tinder shopping for LR4's! Yep, I'd buy that one when he/she sells it (swipe right), nope I don't want that one if they sell it (swipe left).

    Considering Discovery 5 Purchase..

Wow, there must be some incentives to the dealers at that price. Good for you!

    2011 lr4 tires with 19 rims

That is what LR did with the Duratracs - the 255/55/19 size was made specifically for Land Rover (which is what Goodyear told me). With the other vehicles moving to 31" tires, I imagine that would be the default for the Defender as well, with stock capacity to handle up to 33" and then beyond...

    New 2018 & 2019 Discovery 5 Purchase...

You may be able to score a better deal these days, LR is shutting down in Solihull for 2 weeks due to poor sales (globally, not necessarily the US) and concerns over Brexit uncertainty. https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/live-updates-jaguar-land-rover-15254264 In a statement...

    Windshield Cowling Installation

Mine is outside as well - the wife gets both garage spots :). I am not sure why the new one bowed so quickly - perhaps it is not made as well as the factory original. It came from Atlantic British and was "genuine", but who knows who LR has making these things these days.

    Windshield Cowling Installation

I suggest adding a bead of silicone across the windshield under the edge of the new cowling to help hold it down and also act as a water barrier. My new cowling started to bow after about 18 months, even with the silicone trying to hold it back (I could see the silicone edge stretching over...

    L319 vs. L462...

The Disco Sport is getting a slight rear end makeover for 2019, so I would suspect the D5 will get a few tweaks for 2020. Now that the Defender is looking to be a chiselled box, more like an evolution of the D4, I think people will not care as much about the design of the D5.

Receiver Hitch - Is this normal?

I decided to just let mine rust into place and never remove it. Seems more reassuring that way.

    Another Defender hint?

Yeah, really. It does look like what the natural progression of the Discovery could have been. Looking forward to what the inside may bring - could be all over the map since they supposedly will make bare-bones Safari versions to Luxury Country Club versions.

It’s the new Land Rover Defender!

Nice Find! It may actually be "the dogs bollocks". Can't wait to see the inside! I guess it is not really a disguise if they are going to advertize "best4x4xfar" all over it. I guess they are trying to create some buzz heading into the Paris Auto show. If this is in Britain, I wonder why it...

    L319 vs. L462...

I agree, my wife begs me to get another Disco all the time, I just can't do it unless it is a 2nd spare car because I know how much shop time the first one needed, but I did like driving it more than my LR3 for sure. The Discovery is just not growing on me - I am hopeful for the new Defender...

Thoughts on 2016 LR4 HSE Lux (Landmark) purchase?

That's the trade-off with Carmax, you pay slightly more than market average, but they do seem to stand behind what they sell and make things right when needed. I have seen many posts on problems Carmax fixed, things I do not think an average indy dealer lot would remotely touch (like your...

For those of you thinking about the upcoming winter...

In our area, snow often turns to slush and icy conditions in the early morning. We do not get as much nice fluffy snow as we do heavy wet snow. I survived many years in small cars with all-season tires, but I had manual transmissions and enjoyed the challenge. Plus, "survive" is not the...

For those of you thinking about the upcoming winter...

Just found the Nokian SUV R3 last night! Was curious about them for my wife's 08 RR, which is 255/55/19. She needs new tires and I was contemplating Winter tires for a change - not a lot of major snow issues here in SE PA, but when it does hit "just right" (heavy snow mid-day after everyone is...

    Advice on peeling dash

Wow, looks great! My LR3 dash is cracked all around the passenger air bag seams (a common issue with LR3's), but it has not spread anywhere else yet, so I am hestiant to tear it all apart and potentially introduce rattles or squeaks - let us know how it ends up!

    Advice on peeling dash

There are likely many Texas and Florida flood cars out there from last year's major storms that are being sold/traded by owners that never reported damage because they did not have the proper insurance to cover it. This does seem like a rather extreme situation - was it like this when you...

    LR5 Release Updates?

This was spotted in Warwickshire the other day and posted in the Coventry Newpaper online, it might be the updated D5 for 2020...Not sure what exactly has changed as it seems very similar to the original 2016 mules. This was a spy shot from 2016 - they seem the same.... The new 2020...
