Diesel?
Of course all LR4's and every other SUV should be diesel..........THANK YOU VW for terminally killing diesels in North America not only once, but twice!
Even though diesel popularity is waning in Europe due to VW and particulate emission concerns, in my mind we would all be better off...
But are you factoring in what your time is worth re. Queuing up for 2hrs per fill up at Costco? One near us, but line ups are always crazy long, so have never bothered.
VW ID4? Just checked it out. Nice!
240k miles? Mine is just shy of 100k miles. Hell, its good for another 12yrs at least!
Good luck with the sale. With covid premium, good time to sell.
I didn't say I wasn't a risk taker!
My last exposure to Alfas was circa rusted out Alfa suds in 1980's. Vaguely hoping past 40yrs was enough time for Alfa to deliver gorgeous designs AND reliability? Haven't researched modern Alfas yet, but on radar.
All good points raised.
I have never bought a new vehicle. My usual car buying model is to buy something used at 3-4yo and go for vehicles that depreciate heavily. That way you get a bargain. Idly looking at Alfa Romeo Stelvio's. Still a bit newish, but if modern Alfa values do not drop like a...
I have always preferred to own a car outright and agree that paying covid tax on any vehicle new or used right now does not make sense.
I agree they are great vehicles to drive and being originally from UK the Land Rover name does invoke some loyalty. However, every LR4 owner out there will at...
I shudder at the thought!
However at some point the cost of leasing a brand new, albeit mediocre vehicle vs. Spending the same money to keep the LR4 running does enter the fray
Don't get me going on gas $!
Our maintenance costs are comparable i.e. 10cents/km for yours vs. 11 cents/km for mine.
Agree a RAV 4 is a more logical choice, but cannot bring myself to even consider one.
With two dogs a Tesla model Y would keep my wife and son happy, but not keen on leasing and...
Just doing my 2021 taxes. My 2010 V8, 100k miles cost $CAD 5k in repairs in 2021. You can add in another $CAD575 for tools.
A friend leases a RAV4 for $CAD4,800 a year. Only maintenance is oil changes :(
The cost-benefit of ownership is naturally on a declining curve. No major breakages in...
I would definitely replace the front crossover and rear heater manifold pipes. Personally I wouldn't bother with the water pump until it develops a slow leak. You can do the pipes without touching the water pump, so you are not saving any effort by doing all at once.
So I found the TPMS on the IID. However it was set up as 'no TPMS' for the spare tire.........so how / why am I getting the sodding low pressure warning I wonder??
So I got the spare tire low pressure warning and checked the pressure. It was 40psi vs. 60psi. Pumped it up, but annoying warning remains (havent rechecked to see if it has deflated again mind you). Is there a way to disable this with the IID tool?
Did the front and rear crappy plastic pipes on my 2010 V8 at 90k miles. The front crossover and maybe the water pump too showed a small leak over 18 months. It was pooling on the vacuum pump and clearly visible on skid plate upper surface. Overall a straightforward job, if a little fiddly...
Hi,
2010 LR4 with 100k miles.
Twice over the past week the steering has made an odd rattle noise on full lock. Sounds like I have run over a flimsy piece of metal. Wife has heard it too when she was driving it. Only happens occasionally so far. PS fluid changed with OEM a month back.
Otherwise...
