Yes, I guess it is a Receiver. The jpg shows the newer smaller LR4 type and the big one is the LR3 original receiver. The LR4 type fits the LR3 and hangs down less - looks better as well. -

Per my post #12, I was having somewhat similar concerns re my 2005 LR3 re the tranny and shifting, but in cold weather only. Rather than a tranny problem, I decided it was probably a temperature sensor problem - cheaper to think that - so in Feb of 2018 I changed out the engine oil temperature... -
Speakers not working
I guess I do not know much about the amplifier under the passenger seat as to date, on my 3, it is still working. It sounds like this red light is on your amp somewhere or is the light on the dash? At any rate, a hard reset fixes more problems than it creates and costs nothing so good luck. -
Is it possible to upgrade rear camera ?
I have an LR3 and I replaced the backup lights with LED bulbs. They were nothing special, but they certainly put out more light and hence at night when backing up, the camera displays well. Also one can see more thru the mirrors, (the old way). It was what I call a cheap and easy upgrade... -
What LR??
Regardless, the vehicle has a good looking purposeful silhouette - and LR cannot seem to figure out what to replace the Defender with. They already have the answer, and it works - no development costs for what would be a low volume vehicle, and it still looks current. -
So here is why after owning (4) Land Rovers I don't think I will ever own one again.
I think the bigger question is why does LR continue to have problems everyone else has solved? How do they manage that?- bbyer
