Transmission fault, HDC, lowered suspension height -- resolved

yellow park brake light Your mention of the yellow park brake light brings to memory a recent problem and solution. I started with the park brake light going on, then the antilock/antiskid lights came on to say I did not have those systems and then the air suspension wanted to drop in...

Transmission fault, HDC, lowered suspension height -- resolved

Do you have the Nav screen? The fact you know how to trick the system and stay up gives me confidence that you can find the problem with your air system. You have done the simple stuff so that suggests the problem is with the air system wiring. If so, that is not so easy to find...

Transmission fault, HDC, lowered suspension height -- resolved

Malfunction Indicator Light aka Engine Check Light I guess once upon a time, the emission law guys called for a Malfunction Indicator Light to illuminate on the dash of all applicable vehicles. The symbol got the shape of an Engine, hence the more common name now of Engine Check Light...

Transmission fault, HDC, lowered suspension height -- resolved

yes, almost fun to replace My cost here in Canada was about seventy five Canadian however in the States per above, it runs about fifty to sixty US dollars. And yes, taking the black plastic engine cover off is harder than replacing the PCV valve - for once.

Transmission fault, HDC, lowered suspension height -- resolved

LR part number LR003380 Thanks, I found it now; pictures below and yes, this is for the petrol 4.4 litre V8 engine and what was installed. The MIL engine check light has not gone on for the last couple of days so maybe the Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve was the problem.

Transmission fault, HDC, lowered suspension height -- resolved

Assume you have the 4.4L V8? I just replaced what I call the PCV valve but I guess is called a Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve as I had my MIL light going on. ... or maybe it is call the EGR valve, Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve. Whatever it is called, , mine was a round black disc...

The ability to service wear parts

Kind of like a flat screen TV Once upon a time, televisions had tubes and they were serviceable; they were also made in the USA. Then someone in USA invented transistors and other people is far away lands put them in radios and then into TV's - but they were still serviceable. Then...

    installing backup camera from garmin

GVIF for camera? The GVIF that I installed looked like per the link below except that the one I purchased said it was for the LR3 / D3; the unit per the link below is for the D4. The unit you provided the eBay link for, I am not clear what it does but I do not think it has anything to do...

    installing backup camera from garmin

DIP switch settings I used what I would call the old style GVIF unit which I located under the left side seat beside the Land Rover Nav computer/dvd device. That one in the eBay link is what I would call new style but probably does the same thing as the older larger silver coloured metal box...

    installing backup camera from garmin

Updated Nav computer? Please keep us informed as to your progress re an updated Nav computer. That will not be an easy task but given that LR will not pay Navteq, (now Navigation.com), to create updated DVD's for our unit and Navteq will not do it themselves as they see no profit...

    installing backup camera from garmin

yes and yes Yes, I have the factory Nav DVD unit located under the front seat that came with my 3 along with the NAV display and 6CD-465 radio head. Yes, I had to also purchase an aftermarket GVIF unit that connected to the rear of the factory Nav DVD unit. Regarding the term, "interface...

    Aftermarket Bonnet Struts?

Stabilus are the good struts! Stabilus are I think also the original LR marked struts as well. Regardless, they are the good ones. Regarding the bonnet struts, replace them as a pair. Having one side carry more weight than the other can lead to a twisted bonnet.

    Alarm going off

Fortunately, I have not yet had any problem with my bonnet alarm sensor, hence do not know much about it. In reading the bonnet switch install instructions below, it appears that there is no mounting adjustment re the switch but there is for the latch. Maybe if you just fool around with the...

    Alarm going off

Tilt sensor in Europe The question is of course what is setting off your alarm. You may as short out the bonnet sensor but the odds are it is OK. In Europe there is a tilt sensor and vibration sensor in the alarm system as well an interior volumetric sensor but I think none of that...

    Alarm going off

Any messages on display? Are you getting any messages on the middle display? I assume not and yes, you may as well short out the bonnet sensor in order to eliminate that question. It may be another door sensor or the rear hatch or wiring to the sensors. I guess I am not being too helpful...

    2013 - 2014 DVD Navigation Update?

different is the problem and if at all is accurate My understanding is that LR UK has decided not to support the D3 as far as updated Navigation discs are concerned. Perhaps this is good as that suggests NavTeq can now sell direct to us. As such it is a matter of them deciding that there is...

    Brake pad wear sensor problem

set / unset procedure for rears In theory, the light goes amber for brake pad wear but mine went red as well. In itself, red infers low brake fluid level but I took it to mean that the pads were worn and that a more than normal amount of brake fluid was required to actuate the worn pads and...

Help Identifying this T Connector (and a replacement)

Part number? The jpg is appreciated; could you post the part number as well. Others may be wise to purchase one as well and either put it in their spares kit or just replace it. The tee is one of those guaranteed to fail items - the question is merely when.

    2013 - 2014 DVD Navigation Update?

nothing re LR3 About a month ago, I did some checking and there was nothing new, 2012 seemed to be about all there is. Perhaps the emergence of an LR2 disc suggests hope. I wonder why they do not call it the 2014 2015 disc? I guess 2013 2014 is more accurate so they are to be encouraged.

    Brake pad wear sensor problem

probably a sensor problem rather than pad concern Here is the link to the brake switch replacement files, but in this case, I suspect you either have worn brakes or one of the two brake wear sensors has broken, usually at where it enters the brake pad area. http://bit.ly/11MyYA6 You...

    LR3 tow wiring harness

Bridgestone H/L tyres Yes, please keep us informed. I view is that whatever problem another owner is having means my day is coming as well. I see you are running the same Bridgestone H/L tyres as I am. I regard them as good value for the money. So far, I seem to be able to stay on the...

    LR3 tow wiring harness
