Ya I use a version on my M5 (Dinan Filter) that new has little to no oil. Also another little secret or trick is to take a hair dryer and heat up the filters on the top side to eliminate any surface oil.
Did you get an error for the MAF or MAP? Because that code is specific to the MAP and not...
The MAP sensor doesn't have anything to do with "flow" but actual barometric pressure so therefore measuring vacuum in the intake manifold.
I believe our LR4s use a combo of three sensors with the ECU -
MAF (Mass Air Flow)
MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure)
IATS (Intake Air Temperature Sensor)
I believe your thinking of MAFs. The Mass Air Flow sensors are right behind the air filter. Although if they did get any oil on them you could clean them off with a MAF cleaner and be ok. The MAP sensor however is way back behind the throttle body as you can see in my DIY link. I would highly...
No 62k but I thought I would do them now. Have a slight vibration in the motor at idle. Using only top tier fuel. Going to run a bottle of techron through it though.
Third - with your fingers pinch the hose right under the right side of the center inake. Should pop right off. Now all you need to do is firmly pull the intake towards the front of the vehilce and it should slide right off.
Fourth - The MAP sensor is now accessable. Located right behind the...
First - Pull the motor cover off.
Second - Release all 5 screw clamps on intake. Then remove the two flex hoses from the intake box to the center intake housing.
The last clamp is where the trottle body meets the motor.
Had the chance today to change the barometric pressure sensor on my LR4. She had thrown a MAP sensor code with CEL twice so I figured I would just go ahead and change it.
DIY is as follows.
Tools needed -
- Flat Head Screwdriver
- 20mm Torx Bit Screwdriver
- Gloves (if your a clean freak)...
How well does it pair via bluetooth? I was thinking of getting the bluetooth but the pairing concerns me. Especially if its going to screw up my LR4 phone pairing every time I use it. :hello:
Ya I believe MAFs usually have that issue due to the air flowing over the unit. Ive had number of them on BMWs over the years and a few cleaning tests will prove if they are going bad. I think however that BPS are a bit different and even supposedly more reliable due to measurement of pressure...
Received a check engine light yesterday. Pulled the code and it was Manifold Absolute Pressure / Barometric Pressure Sensor / Range Performance.
Anyone had these sensors go bad? Rig feels great just the CEL. Im guessing one or both could be on the way out.
I had to settle for a non HD 2011 in my search. :ahhhhh:
Im wondering if anyone with a non HD package has added a full size spare to their LR4. Everything should be the same with the spare mount correct? Just the actual wheel and tire I presume.
Fairly sure your gonna need rods due to the 31.8 diameter. Let us know what happens if you run them stock... :proud:
Here is a scale for sizes - http://johnsonrods.com/johnson_rods_2_004.htm
