    roof rack

Thinking so. Too bad as their low profile LR3/4 rack is nice. Very low profile but with plenty of crossbars to make it stout. I think I bought one of the last ones he made. There is some ebay presence so try that?

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

Wish Compo would offer more colors, as in stock silver or whatever it is. I'm not into the current trend of blacking out everything. Eeck.

Are these OEM or > Quality Brakes?

One plus aspect of Greenstuff pads is the break-in coating that removes any rotor glazing and seats the pads.

LR4 Offroad Performance WITHOUT Heavey Duty Package

A LR3/4 is only 3/4 of a ton heavier than a Discovery I. You can add more gear and passengers but the example I gave was curb weight for all vehicles + 2 passengers. Should have noted that all vehicles used low range in the hill climb. If anything the longer wheelbase of a LR3/4 would have...

LR4 Offroad Performance WITHOUT Heavey Duty Package

Factory tires are selected for load, safety, ride, urban performance and cost. As for 'best' LR4 or LR5 tire? LOL. We can't even agree on what best is. Let each owner decide.

LR4 Offroad Performance WITHOUT Heavey Duty Package

No on the Defender tires but also no on the Discovery I and II tires which were Michelin. Tires can help but when your traction control strategy is to reduce throttle input and apply the brake to a wheel or wheels, traction/forward momentum issues can be discovered. Edit add: Let's be fair to...

LR4 Offroad Performance WITHOUT Heavey Duty Package

A perspective that some don't realize is that traction control is basically reverse ABS. It is why everyone can offer it. It is relatively cheap to implement. ABS senses wheel spin and relaxes braking to enhance directional control. Traction control senses wheel spin and applies the wheel brake...

    Weight distribution hitch

Agreed on brake controller (mine is permanent install to the available Ford compatible system) and extension mirrors. LR is missing the boat on mirrors as a high margin accessory. Also note that the wire gauge of the 12V feed to the trailer harness is undersized (14 or 16 ga?) for charging a...

    Weight distribution hitch

Before the Rhino hitch came along I was considering the Mitchel Bros hitch but it was more expensive.

    Weight distribution hitch

I was an early adopter of the Rhino. Have no idea what the current price is. I think it is a side business of http://www.differentialpartsus.com. Spec'd as a class IV hitch. Call Todd in Austin, TX.

    Weight distribution hitch

My LR4 is a 2011. The trailer is a 2013 Keystone Premier 19FBPR. Total length is 23'9". to tip of hitch. Have towed through Colorado mountains and up to Wyoming, Yellowstone and Montana. On the highways and through mud trails. The front end of the LR4 does not feel lighter. I have gone with...

    Weight distribution hitch

Some are using a WDH, some are not. I do not with my spread axle trailer. Difficult to ask a trailer shop because most are not familiar with EAS Rovers. Land Rover itself doesn't offer or even recommend a WDH, at least not that i have seen/read.

    2011 - 2017 LR4 - My Experiences

As a LR Discovery I owner looking for more engine power, we looked at Toyota's, Fords, Dodges and Chevy's. The older 60's Buick engine is really too small for towing. The Discovery I was actually a very reliable vehicle that served us well over the years. Still a DD. Not to today's standards but...

    2011 - 2017 LR4 - My Experiences

I should add 18" LR3 wheels, MotorSport-Tech spacers, 285/60-18 General Grabber AT2's, Rhino hitch and typically a Bell Alaskan canoe strapped to the Urban Offroad rack while pulling the 19' camper at altitude. @mattypV50 - I think you were being too nice to her. She was lonely.

    2011 - 2017 LR4 - My Experiences

That's pretty high for 42K miles. My 2011 LR4 has seen near 70K miles, pulled a camper, wheeled Colorado trails and only had the LCA bushing wear out. Likely due to age and washboard roads.

    LR5 Release Updates?

Considering the design to production cycle of 4 to 5 years, the Discovery 6 should be in the design stages. Maybe LR can show some "Vision", no pun intended, with the D6.

    LR5 Release Updates?

One aspect of LR design that my friends comment about is window visibility, that it is far superior to competitors. Looking at the rear side-by-side comparison of the LR4 and LR5 highlights that the LR5 has lost significant rear window height. The side windows not rolling down is another...

    Separate rims for snow tires?

I used Motorsport-Tech BORA spacers for 10-spoke LR3 wheels on my 2011 LR4. Go to link and scroll down. 25mm. Clearance between wheel ID and front calipers is really tight but works. A couple of wheels left a scratch on the inside of the wheel but worked. No caliper grinding.

    New LR4 with HD Package

A few thoughts: - You would be surprised at how manufactures shave cost to increase margins. The HD package was a significant item on the BOM and it also increased vehicle weight which feeds into the CAFE rating. - Agreed that many LR customers don't need HD so in consideration of higher...

    New LR4 with HD Package

LR should build a 'select' final run of loaded LR4's, to include 2-speed xfer case and HD axle. Mark them up.

What is the best MY for a LR4?

Agreed on the upgraded Nav system by 2013. But, even today's system is nearly outdated relative to stand-alone systems or cell phones. Not just LR. It really becomes a non-factor in a preowned vehicle decision.

What is the best MY for a LR4?

Best years: 2010 - 2013 with the 5.0L V8, 2-speed xfer case and HD available From 2014 and on the engine was a 3.0L SC and you began to see single-speed xfer cases.

High Range to Low Range Scarry Feeling

Have to try it with my LR4 but the usual pre-solenoid age process for shifting from 4HI to 4LO was to slightly goose the pedal, let up on the throttle and shift as the torque in the system is relieved for that moment. Usually at a crawl for this process. Repeat for back to 4HI. Personally I...
