Just a heads up for you guys looking for a good fuel treatment for your tank. I spoke with a master LR tech after having my o2 sensors replaced. I had used two bottles of STP fuel treatment after refueling on my '05. I did this because my start-up's were lacking in time and figured with 86k...
My local Land Rover dealership charges $120 per hour on labor and $10.33 per quart of synthetic. They add a "tool" charge as well which varies and of course you pay a bit more from the dealership for LR genuine parts. I did the full change almost $150 cheaper by doing it myself.
Thanks guys. I'll check the cold level before I head out today. I had the housing, bleeder valve, and t-stat replaced in November. I'm not saying the LR techs did any wrong doing. I'm just worried they over filled the coolant. I don't see how they could if they did what the work order states...
I took my truck in this morning to Bluff City Land Rover. The codes they were given were different from mine. I had gotten P-0159(defective oxygen sensor) pertaining to Bank 2 Sensor 2. The codes they got said I had more than one o2 sensor that was bad so they replaced both rear sensors. This...
I can agree to the off roading aspect of, Houm_WA. The airbag concept would be much greater off road, but if you stick to mall crawling, the springs wouldn't be a bad deal. The red suspension fault light would somewhat annoy me though.
I have not had a test drive with the conversion personally, but I know of a RRS that had it done for the same reason you're wanting to convert. I wouldn't think it would be a bad idea. I would personally have it done to my LR3 as well if I had the money and will. I'm just about sick of the CEL...
I just did my oil change about two weeks ago. 8qts did the job. Be sure to check daily for about a week for any leaks and to make sure the oil isn't being burned off too much. Seals, valves, and rods can be weakened over time.
I don't think the oil has anything to do with it as I added exactly 8 quarts of Mobil1 synthetic. I checked and re-checked the level the each day of the week I changed it. The only thing I figured that could have fouled the sensor(It's just one sensor that is defective according to the computer...
CEL came on and gave me a defective O2 sensor code for Bank 2 Sensor 2. Can someone direct me to the exact location for Bank 2/Sensor 2? It is before the cat or after? Has anyone had this replaced? How much did it cost including labor?
Code read as P-0159: "circuit condition(Heated oxygen sensor bank sensor 2.) The power train control module uses the oxygen sensor to calculate the air/fuel ratio in the exhaust." P-0159 is a "defective oxygen sensor". Has anyone had to replace their sensor before due to this same occurrence? If...
I'm not worried about the suspension dropping as it vents. I've had it in access mode and I've been clear of any objects. I have the 2.5" rod lift so that may be the case. They charged me $55 for ONE air filter at a European auto shop the first time I had it serviced. I got all of my filter for...
I had cruise set on 40mph. I look down and see yet another amber glowing engine light. I pulled over and checked all fluids and nothing was low. I had the t-stat and thermostat housing replaced along with the breather valve for the hoses at the LR dealership about 1,000 miles ago. I did an oil...
I'm nearing 90k miles on my 2005. It has not had a transmission flush or differential flush yet. I haven't noticed much in transmission shifts or noise, but I can hear a very faint winding sound when I accelerate. Is this normal as the truck is full-time 4x4? It's hard to hear the noise and...
I have the v8 and use 93 octane. Regardless of engine I would recommend using the 93. I say this not only because the vehicle recommends it, but if something happens to your LR3 sometime down the road you can rule out not using the proper fuel. I used 87 for about two months and didn't notice...
I woke up this morning to find a very small amount of water dripping off the passenger side windshield pillar. It was one drip coming through the edge of the "airbag" plastic cover. Is this something to worry about? I had left the sunroof open by accident last night, but I didn't notice any...
I'm so jealous right now. That setup is sick. I've taken my LR3 to several different audio shops to shop for a mono block amp and a better shallow mount 10" subwoofer, only for the shops to tell me I would have to redo the entire sound system due to lack of an aftermarket wiring harness. I've...
I have the Pirelli Zero's on my GL550. They look awesome and track well, but the tread wear is horrible. Its soft compound is the cause. Again, comfortable tire, but don't expect more than 20-25k miles out of them.
Thanks man. It took me about 45 minutes to do the initial oil change, but another hour to clean up the oil that sprayed out when I unplugged it. I eventually pulled it into the garage to service it, but new I would probably get oil on the ground at some point so I waited before I pulled it in...
Finally got around to changing the oil on my LR3. It was easy as cake. For me the hardest part was getting the skid plate back on. If your LR3 isn't covered under warranty anymore I highly recommend doing your own oil changes. I ordered cabin, air, oil filters plus oil drain plug for $54 w/ free...
No offense taken to any opinion. I think Derek's work is unique which is why I'm a fan. I don't think all of his work is fantastic. For example, I'm not a fan of his grills or funny side grills, but I like his roofracks over the Voyanger rack. Even his half rack is nicer than a lot of full racks...
