    LR4 Clicking Noise from Engine

Let me know what you find out. Mines makes the exact same noise as yours. I use 5w20, and 5w10 respectively on a flat driveway, in the foothills of Maine (Lewiston) I would be surprised if it was oil related. But you never know. Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk

Justin from Lucky8 did some video tutorial, on their Instagram page https://www.instagram.com/lucky8offroad/?hl=en , on how much had to be removed. Wish i took pictures of when we did it.

    LR4 Clicking Noise from Engine

I've had mine for over 50K, no noticeable increase in sound (it is pretty loud though), or other issue noticed during. Sometime it's not their at all. I do notice it more in colder temps, and at first startup after it's been sitting for a few days. It's up to you. If you want some piece of...

new 18" wheel from Lucky8 offoad?

Just fitted a set to a friends LR4, without spacers. We had to shave maybe 2-3 mm (MAX) off of each caliper in various spots. most of the time we just smooth the casting and the wheel fit without issue. Also he got the set from Terrafirma (not sure who the OEM is though), for about $160/wheel...

Thank you to whoever posted the suggestion of using sand mode in deep snow.

I know the feeling, I live in Lewiston. and got 22" of the cold fluffy stuff from that storm, on top of a nice 1/4" layer of ice on the back roads. Makes for an interesting ride. I too am running the DM-V1's, not perfect but get the job done. I tend to modulate between the "snow" and "sand" mode...

    LR4 Clicking Noise from Engine

This is a very common sound from the 5.0 JLR engine. When mine started i had two different dealerships look at it. Both said the same thing, HP Fuel Pump Cam followers. The HP fules pumps sit on the lower right side of the engine block towards the front. Depending on where you are listening...

LR4 largest Tire size with lift on 18" Compomotives

I run a 245/60R20 for the DM-V1s Nokkian did not have the tire size I wanted. Much easier to fit 17" wheel to a LR3, than a LR4. Although there are many 18 options now, so it a possibility when i need new tires :) Also the name come from a while ago when I was a Master Tech at Jaguar (Early 2000's)

    well...truck can't get through EVERYTHING...fun day in the snow...not

I run a 245/60r20 on the Blizzaks DM-V1's, so definitely a narrower and a bit taller tire for the winter versus stock or the 285/55r20 on the Coopers Being prepared is key, no different than going on an excursion, you never know when "that" moment will happen and you need to un-stick yourself...

washer fluid - Doesn't work in the cold? Feature or Error?

-15F (ambient, -35F with wind Chill:)) all weekend (Maine), and I had no issues. Also you can order a case from Amazon (free shipping), of the good stuff, for about $30. Or just buy the methanol concentrate, and add it to the reservoir.

LR4 largest Tire size with lift on 18" Compomotives

What Surf said is 100% true. I tried running lifted all the time, for about 2 days, hated it. The IID Tool is great not just for lifting, but for diagnostics, programming, and general vehicle health.

    Landmark Rims

Definitely in your head :) They are great vehicle though. I had the opportunity to watch 10 or some come off the line back in May. What a great experience, seeing all the different combinations destined for countries all over the world.

    well...truck can't get through EVERYTHING...fun day in the snow...not

I have both the Cooper Zeon LTZ's (love em BTW) and Bridgestone Blizzak's (Not as happy, but get the job done), there is just no replacement for snow tires. These LR4's are heavy, and as such physics is not our friend. Once you start to lose traction it becomes a bear to bring back in line (also...

    well...truck can't get through EVERYTHING...fun day in the snow...not

OK, so as a person who drives un-plowed dirt roads, and trails on the regular in the winter I can lend a few pointers. Snow Tires are a must for a vehicle this heavy. It doesn't matter if you are on a plowed road vs fresh powder, if you cannot maintain grip, once they start to slide physics...

Changing rear brakes now - some questions

Back to the brakes... That is a significant difference in pad wear from the inner to the outter pad. Make sure the caliper guide pins are thoroughly lubed. Also did you inspect the caliper piston boot for rips? I have done (myself) the brakes a total of 3 time. I always get consistent wear...

    Warped Rotors

At least LR is trying to make it right. keep up updated in another 5K to see if the issue has returned.

Cooper Zeon LTZ 285/50/20 with OEM 20x8.5 Wheels

The tire fits, I've run them for two years now, but two things I have learned from experience. - they will rub on the frame horns at full steering lock. This is not an issue as the frame horn is rounded, and it goes away after 5k or so miles. Just makes a noticeable noise when back out of the...

HD Pack - after sale installation?

I can vouch for this. Was at an event this summer where LR offered a few loaners. 2016 LR4 without HD package, and a V8/V6 SC motor (Odd story where the two extra cylinder were "empty" so the V8 was technically V6...) anyway. These vehicle did not have low range. they were constantly getting...

    LR5 Release Updates?

Why would they do that, especially with all the talk about how it will be less capable. I would think from a marketing standpoint you would want to least not appear to alienate the consumer who has made the Discovery models so popular. I agree the LR4 looks to be in lifted mode. The reason for...

    LR5 Release Updates?

What a departure though... I like progress, but it has quickly made the LR4 a classic design. To me it looks like the LR5 is poured over the wheels, and given a droopy, basset hound look to it.

    Accessorizing

I see if I can dig it out for pictures. Moved in May and stuff is still everywhere! Thanks!! I'm happy with the win too. Very stiff competition this year.

    Accessorizing

No, but this is an upcoming winter project, mostly for the cool factor . I have a Pelican 1650 I've converted to a portable bar, and that what I typically bring on my adventures. Besides bringing libations to the Muddy Chef is like bringing sand to the beach with all the vendors that go. I...
