Hey all, when my wife pulls into the garage, we are smelling coolant. Nothing on the garage floor, no visible leaks around radiator, overflow, coolant lines, etc. Nothing. Just the sweet smell of coolant. Any thoughts? thanks- Davidinseattle

Is it ok to start towing with 100,000 miles on the engine?
you guys are cray cray pulling that with the Landy!. 7300 dry is well over 8000 wet. NO WAY you make the payload cut unless you throw out the interior, leave the family home and drive around with no more than two gallons of gas in the car! Bought mine at Costco for $99. It's awesome. I bought it for swap out of my summer/winter tires on the Cayenne S. Use it regularly on the Landy and my Burb. take my advice, don't fix it. There is NO value in stop start. Don't care what anyone says. Stop/Start is the second biggest EPA scam behind the emissions testing defeat code. Stop/start in a controlled EPA testing environment might have yielded better results, but I can pretty much guarantee...- Davidinseattle

Sweet smell, coolant leak, ugh...
our 2015 was producing the coolant smell and we had it in twice. They fixed it the last time with a new overflow cap. They told me the system is under pressure and it was seeping out. Skeptical, but the smell is gone. They also did the timing chain while it was in, so who knows. good luck- Davidinseattle

okay, listened to those videos. Mine is tracking with the RPMs and sounds more like tappets sans oil then that engage/disengage sound of the fan clutch. So, I am inclined to believe that mine is indeed a timing chain slapping issue.- Davidinseattle

yep, same here. Boosters with no latch, just the seatbelt. We have two in the back row and one latch in Britax in the middle row. Note: I removed the middle seat from the second row which makes it much easier for two in the 3rd row. Night and day difference.- Davidinseattle

I checked them. They were like new. There was no grime around it. I did lube the clip tracks. The pins didn't need it. once i bolted the calipers back on I checked the movement by hand. No problem. Additionally I put the micrometer on the back rotors. One was 20mm and the other was 19.8mm. I...- Davidinseattle

General thoughts on buying a 2011 LR4 with 100k miles?
"It's crazy but vehicles stored in a garage rust far quicker." Not sure where you are getting this information from, but that's not true. One could argue that leaving a salt encrusted vehicle inside a "heated" garage would minimally increase the process, but to suggest garaging it would cause...- Davidinseattle

Closing the loop on this. the pads only change on this vehicle was a snap. After being cautious on the first wheel, it took me about 10 minutes a wheel there after. Note: I was able to save the wear sensors and I have 1/2 impact and a floor jack so there's no messing around. It's fast and easy.- Davidinseattle
