    LR4 Starting Anomaly

Oh I see, I thought you were using a v8 flywheel on an AJ126 V6 SC model. Sorry about that. V8 to v8 should work though I'd think, supercharged or not.

    LR4 Starting Anomaly

I am guessing a v6 flywheel has different number of teeth than a v8 one and the sensor that's counting the teeth is now getting an implausible signal and won't let the ECU fire.

DIY water pump and crossover pipe Video.

Nice, thanks. I will buy some just in case. How many gaskets do I need? Two? Sent from my HD1905 using Tapatalk

DIY water pump and crossover pipe Video.

Dumb question - for those who replaced the crossover pipes and lifted the intake manifold, did you replace the manifold gaskets?

    Costco's Kirkland Signature 5W-20?

Good point. Although I woke up yesterday in WV and it was 3F. Glad I replaced the battery recently, it cranked right up.

    Costco's Kirkland Signature 5W-20?

as I do 5k oil change intervals, I will start using this oil going forward. I use M1 EP 5w-20 now and it's fine, but this is half the price. I don't anticipate there being any issues. Now the question is, 0w-20 or 5w-20?

    Brake noise question

Thanks guys. My brakes do need a flush and bleed so calipers sticking might be it(or its sliding pins). As far as bedding, I warm them up, do 6-8 50-10mph sudden stops on a clear road and then drive around without stopping. I'll check it out.

    Brake noise question

About two months ago, I replaced my front rotors and pads, as well as rear pads. Ended up using pagid rotors and brembo pads for the front and I bedded them in after install. Recently I've started getting an ugly groaning/squealing noise at really low speeds, right before coming to a complete...

    LR 4 Retired

I have been looking at Land Cruisers(LCs) for a while. I almost bought an 03 LC100 4 or so years ago but couldn't get over how much of a dog the 4.7 engine was, even with vvti and the updated 5sp AT. The 5.7 is much better. To me, the main appeal of the LC is the engineering underneath. I don't...

    LR 4 Retired

Out of curiosity, what would be the caution? I see the reliability and tank-like feeling as huge positives, as well as the relative simplicity. I do love my LR4 but I wonder what I'd miss if I moved to something like an LC200.

    LR 4 Retired

I perused your thoughts about switching to the LC200 with great interest - thank you for sharing that. I would love to hear your thoughts on LR4 vs LC200 in a couple areas - overall size(the LC200 seems massive, much more so than an LR4) and the 4wd system(LC200 with ATRAC, etc). I am assuming...

    Stock LR4 and 275 55 20s - the results!!

It's barely scuffing. Nothing noticeable on the tire itself or sidewalls. I'll leave em be.

    Stock LR4 and 275 55 20s - the results!!

Thanks, this is good info. 275 55 20 comes out to 31.9 inches, as per your earlier question. Maybe I should remove the frame horns, as the clearance between these and the tire is rather tight.

    Stock LR4 and 275 55 20s - the results!!

Access mode is just the lowest of the three settings of the air suspension. When EAS fails, I believe it drops even lower, down to the bump stops. I think with this setup, it would be immobilized if that happened, unfortunately.

    Stock LR4 and 275 55 20s - the results!!

I wanted to post an update to those who were wondering about the spare tire. I sourced a 20inch wheel and got a used 275 55 20 tire mounted on it. The rim was from a 20inch lr4, actually the same wheel as the black LR4 is running a couple of posts above this one. Anyway, the used tire i found...

    Winter is here. Floor Mats?

I have the weathertechs also(front and 2nd row) and completely agree. For what they cost, the plastic is flimsy(not heavy at all, like some rubber mats I've seen), the cuts seem rather sloppy and the mats don't inspire confidence. They do the job but I expected better. Sent from my HD1905...

Bigger Tires and Calibrating Speedo w IID

Haven't put the spare on yet - have a 20in rim but need a cheap tire to mount. So far it has been great. Light rubbing under tight low speed turns but that's it. I disabled TPMS completely using my IID tool. Truck feels great and high speed driving/handling is very stable and responsive...

Bigger Tires and Calibrating Speedo w IID

So now that I run 275 55 20s, I would love it if the speedometer wasn't showing 75mph when I am really doing 80, especially since 80 will get you a reckless driving citation in a state not too far away. I have the IID tool and found a section in the ccf file edits where you can set the tire size...

    LR4 Light Bar help

I am about to do the same thing. I found and referenced this thread: https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/lr4-new-light-bar-installed.27871/ and got the same CREE 25 inch light bar from amazon, it was $60 bucks or so. I will attempt to install it in the same location as the poster in the...

What is the Largest Tire that fits stock 20" wheels with little to no rubbing?

These are 58 offset, 20x8.5. Yours would be 11mm farther out than mine, which might help the clearance between wheel and tie rod. I think 275 55 20s should fit fine. I run Yokohama Geolandar g05 tires, which are not super chunky or aggressive. Sent from my HD1905 using Tapatalk
