Coolant Leaking from behind rear wheel

You sir, are a supersleuth! That avatar pic was taken the day I bought it at the end of 2022 right after I drove it home from a car wash. So, that puddle is either drips finally making their way to the ground from the car wash, or the coolant leak has been there since I bought it. Oddly, I...

Coolant Leaking from behind rear wheel

Does anyone know if coolant constantly runs through the rear heater core, no matter if the rear heat is on? Or, is there a valve that stops/starts coolant flow to the rear?

    2014 LR4 Leaking Coolant

The obvious questions are: How many miles on the vehicle? Have you replaced your crossover pipes, water pump, t-stat, etc.? My guess is the front crossover pipe cracked. Hope you don't need to drive it soon... with a leak like that, it should stay parked.

Coolant Leaking from behind rear wheel

Can't see much from underneath... Muffler and heat shields in the way. But the drip is clearly making its way down, and dripping off the heat shield, just can't see where it originates. From inside, I removed the plastic panel and I do not see anything wet, so I am thinking that is a good...

Coolant Leaking from behind rear wheel

Figured I would start a new thread on my coolant leak saga... All has been well for a while, however, I walked up the driveway this afternoon and saw a coolant puddle behind the rear wheel. I realize it is under the rear heating system, but thought I would get some feedback from you guys on...

Startup ticking noise - exhaust leak or lifters?

That's a lot of work... I am just trying to figure out if I even have an exhaust leak, but its so damn hard to see the manifold bolts... even with my borescope. Can't tell if it's easier to come at it from the top, from underneath, or through the wheel well. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

Wow.... dude earned his man card that day....

Coolant Crossover Pipe Repair 5.0 V8

Ah, yes, I recognize that from your crossover repair "movie"... I watched that part again yesterday... I'm thinking it will take a couple of vacuums to get all the air out. I think that's what you determined as well.

Startup ticking noise - exhaust leak or lifters?

@Fuji4 - I know this is an old thread, but I stumbled across your video, and I have a very similar tick. I have suspected a drivers side exhaust leak since mine has new chains, tensioners, cams, etc.... anyway, its driving me nuts. Sounds like your indie was able to get in there and fix it...

Coolant Crossover Pipe Repair 5.0 V8

Now that I have a few miles on this repair (and no leaks), I am going to do a complete flush of the cooling system. Need to get all of the yellow dye out of there. Can anyone recommend a good vacuum fill tool? I want to get one, but have heard some are good and some aren't, and I don't have...

    Sunroof Drain...or so I thought!

I just got the clips from Atlantic British and they came with the circle tape (for the top holes only). I think as long as you get some tape with really strong adhesive that can withstand really cold and really hot temps, you're good, but sealant would prob be even better. If you look real...

I thought about doing the same thing and came to the same conclusion.

    Sunroof Drain...or so I thought!

Sorry, not necessarily an upgrade, but new clips with the little round piece of tape that covers the top hole. I had water come in through the holes in the a-piller…. For those that are chasing a water leak, this might help. It requires you to snap off that little piece of plastic on the...

    Sunroof Drain...or so I thought!

Wow. Nice job. I will be referencing this in the future, I’m sure. I did the sunroof drain cleaning, upgraded the a-pillar clips, replaced the cowl, and covered my hvac scoop…. but have a feeling water will still find its way in somehow.

Loosing a little bit of coolant

Chasing a coolant leak is brutal (There's a whole thread on my coolant leak adventure with solid help from this community). Blacklight and pressure tester is by far the best way to do it. I added dye, but your coolant may not need it. Slow leaks are obviously harder to pinpoint, and the...

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

Haven't heard of that, but I left mine in park when I did the pan swap, solenoids, and mechatronic sleeve.

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

Made the same tool when I did mine... works perfect. Unfortunately, a torque wrench won't fit on those tough to reach bolts when putting it back together... have to do those by feel. Helps to jack up the transmission, but still couldn't get all of them. This was one of those maintenance jobs...

Coolant Crossover Pipe Repair 5.0 V8

Correct. worked perfectly with zero modifications. The guy acknowledged he just needs to update the description on their website. As @Rover Range mentioned, its the same water pump.

Coolant Crossover Pipe Repair 5.0 V8

In the spirit of closure, I just wanted to wrap up this thread with the last repair that was made to stop the various coolant leaks (knock on wood). This weekend I replaced the small plastic elbow that attaches to the front of the water pump with the metal version. No more leaks. I am...

Coolant Crossover Pipe Repair 5.0 V8

So here is a link to the metal version. Just bought 2 of them, just in case. The description says does not fit naturally aspirated 5.0... but I called the company (Euro AMP), and he said that it would fit. If you buy the elbow with the thermostat tube, then you will need to specify NA vs S/C...

Coolant Crossover Pipe Repair 5.0 V8

Found the leak.... Haven't attempted to fix it yet, as it is too late now, but hoping its the hose clamp and not the plastic elbow in the water pump. Crazy how much coolant can leak out of there. Edit: I just realized I didn't report in this thread that the hose under the manifold was leaking...

Coolant Crossover Pipe Repair 5.0 V8

Gonna need some help here. Long story short, something happened while my son was driving to school. Coolant light came on as he pulled into the parking lot. I went over and topped it off with coolant during the day, and told him to just drive it home and park it. On his way home the coolant...

Coolant Crossover Pipe Repair 5.0 V8

Latest.... Had a few puddles under the car, and had to add a few ounces of coolant earlier last week. So, I added some UV dye to the coolant and have been driving it for a few days. I haven't seen a puddle under the car, nor have I seen any glowing drips/leaks (using the UV light) anywhere in...
