In the sunroof area they're in the front corners, you see a little channel that leads to the hole but this is all really small stuff... The hole in the intake area can be found behind the foam block, it's not overly obvious so just keep looking you'll see it eventually.
Top clean mine out I...
I think there is more than one sensor but need to do some research, I was hoping somebody might know before I go down the rabbit hole... As always I'll share findings, work etc.
Thanks, not sure if this explains the difference between driver and passenger side, off-course, my stats for the driver side are far more abundant! I do wonder about wallet in the same pocket and things like that but this does seem positional.
Hey Folks - I mentioned this in the past but have a little more bandwidth at the moment to look at this issue...
I notice that when pressing the button on the drivers door handle to lock the car I often get the "beep beep" noise and the car won't lock. If I move around ever so slightly in the...
I'd also say it's a pretty subtle white residue, replace the o'rings, use a very small amount of silicon grease on the new ones and generally give the whole block a good blast with an air nozzle and wipe down all the internals.
Why not just service the valve block, you'll save some $$$'s, have familiarity with the workings of the valve and honestly it's not that difficult. It's a pretty simple device so overall the mechanism portion of the valve block is unlikely to deteriorate over time, it's just the o'rings that...
Reset Procedure:
"With the engine running. Windows closed. Lift up on the window switch, hold for 5 seconds and release. Repeat once."
Worked beautifully, my drivers door window is behaving again. Thank you @Rover Range.
With that I ran the test for @txfromwi, I can confirm there is a...
Thanks for making me aware of the brake switch clicking noise, I was blissfully unaware until reading this thread and now I can "happily" report that I also have a loud clicking noise - great!!! :ahhhhh:
What parts are you thinking of in particular?
For the compressor I went OE (AMK - bought and shipped from the UK as I believe I mentioned in the post above); for valve seal kits I believe it was Land Rover of Utah (it's posted in the thread above and I know others have had success with this...
I just ran in to this issue on my drivers door, I suspect it's sensing too much load when fully closed and then winds the window down again (like you have something stuck in the window!). My question; how do you reset the window as mentioned above? Thanks.
I agree with the advice here, I'd start by servicing the front valve block, if you see lots of desiccant then start looking at the canister on the compressor. I believe that the Hitachi compressor has the serviceable canister, not sure about AMK as I replaced mine when tackling similar issues...
I had this happen recently, started a thread on the same somewhere here in the forum, same bearings were completely shot! This then lead to me doing the timing chains! Here's the thread...
FWIW - I installed a new rear wiper recently (PIAA from Amazon - fitment is not great as the center clip is too large); I noticed that the rear wiper arm was quite stiff at the spring pivot point so I used a small amount of silicon grease and gently moved the wiper arm back and forth to help...
Happy to send the docs, please PM me with an email address and I'll send you the documents that I have; I didn't go with a kit as I never found them to be exactly what I wanted. I also have a few parts that I never needed if you're interested (they're genuine parts collecting dust at the...
Absolutely agree with jlglr4's comments above; there's no need to panic yet but keep an eye on that coolant tank. I did the front/rear crossovers and all the pipes recently while doing the timing chains. You need to look as indicated here:
Here's a closer up (now with the oil cooler pipe in...
You seem to have the same issues as this parallel thread:
https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/2015-lr4-coolant-issue-nothingburger-or.45865/
If fluid is going down then you have a leak, how long does it take to go down, what's your mileage? Check the normal places, cross overs (front and...
I'd start by filling up the reservoir tank and keeping an eye on it to see if it goes back down again. The weaker points on this particular engine are the front and rear crossovers and the small pipe that goes from the water pump to the oil cooler... If it's a really slow leak then perhaps...
Yep, black part pulls off therefore releasing the spring. Hoping everything is ok, there was a little too much white smoke initially so will check the coolant.
Still trying to figure out the transmission noise.
Lesson from this weekend! Don't forget when installing new hoses as part of the timing chain job to remove the retaining clips that secure hoses to their respective pipes:
In this case I lost cooling fluid but hopefully got lucky in that we could hear the hose hitting the cooling fan and...
Ouch... New battery at Costco was $170 but mine failed the test at the local AutoZone so it was a no brainer... Perhaps try a battery and return it if that's not the issue, it's a lot cheaper than $3K.
