    Transmission “Free Wheeling”

Except for a couple hours off roading 3 years ago, and some misc. hills here and there, Montreal is far hillier than anywhere previous. The issue did start on its first day in Montreal.

    Transmission “Free Wheeling”

Probably discussed somewhere, but traveling and dropping my daughter off at a new university in a new city… I have 2 days to resolve, if possible before leaving it with her. 2016, 70K. I drained and filled the transmission fluid at about 60K. It’s been totally dependable. Got hung up in...

Bouncy Ride Normal? +engine cover part no. request

Recently changed tires on my daughters 2016. Changed from Michelin Latitude to Michelin Cross Climate 2. I cannot over recommend the Cross Climate 2 tires - it’s a totally new vehicle, like driving on a silky smooth magic carpet.

Resolved- Height when in Access Height

Traveling… Arrived Montreal for D only to find out that even in access height the LR4, standard wheels is about 2” too tall for the parking structure. What is exact height to top of the Sat Radio antenna?

    OEM Waterpump vs British Atlanta/ProFlow

OEM all the way. I have now completed the F/R rossover project on 2 of my 3 LR4's. 3rd one, 2015, now at 42K miles. Failure on the 2016 was the front crossover on the left hand side, inside the block. Was not leaking, just good timing. Failure on the 2013 was the o-ring on the oil cooler tube...

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

For the 2013 - V6. I did not jack up the transmission. I did not use spray tack. Think about it, you are spraying an adhesive on/inside the pan. Do you actually know that is remains set and does not dissolve in the transmission fluid? Do you actually know how it might behave in the...

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

I recently completed my 2013 with the Lubelocker and it's perfect. You need to torque properly. You need a small torque wrench that you can obtain from a bicycle shop and a stubby socket, it fits, and you need to torque it in the correct order. The steel pan is 12Nm, torque, in order to 6...

LR4 oil cooler level of effort involved estimate? For 2013 V8

Having done the project and with the experience, I agree, on the V8 one can get to it pretty quickly. Of course, it does take longer if one has never done it before... You are in you-might-as-well land. See the video for most of those - plus, do the PCV valve.

LR4 oil cooler level of effort involved estimate? For 2013 V8

Here are my videos, one for the V8 and one for the V6. These are not oil cooler videos, but all the steps you need to get there and back out again are thoroughly covered.

Towing - I Have Not Done My Homework...

Yes UHaul has an adjustable hitch, it must must be purchased, is over $200 and requires additional purchase of the pin locks.

Towing - I Have Not Done My Homework...

Sorry, another dumb question. OK, so the UHaul trailer says ideal hitch height is 18.5 - 18.75 inches as measured to the center of the 2"ball. For our LR4 setups, with the Rover Hitch, looks like I will need a height raising adjuster as the intermediate. (I have the Rover hitch - just finished...

Towing - I Have Not Done My Homework...

That's crazy easy! Thanks! I can even get my D to open it up and show me what's in there to see if the wiring is already installed. Hardest part will be the spare tire, and I need to do that anyhow because I splurged and actually purchased a new spare, but they mounted it back up wrong way...

Towing - I Have Not Done My Homework...

Hi, Stupid questions brought about by a last minute change in plans.... Might actually be towing a small UHaul trailer on a 6 hour drive. I have the hitch, but I am unclear on the electrical connections. The truck is across country so I cannot look at it. Do I need to modify anything for...

    Water pump nipple

Any feedback on all those new metals added to our various systems, is that brass fitting causing any problems that anyone knows about?

    Water pump nipple

I assume you are talking about that little plastic/brass bit... It should spin easily, but should not be easy to just pull out. That little black ring on the water pump must be pushed in to allow the fitting to be pulled out. It cannot come out on it's own. Did you put it in far enough (ha, ha...
