    Wiring connector /pigtail replacement

My HERO is Philip McKay at Palm Beach Rover. If he can't find a part number no one can! Palm Beach is also quick on shipping. Yes, Merriam and Paramus are sometimes a bit less expensive, but I am glad to pay for Philip's help !

Looking to buy this LR4, but rattle at cold start. Goes away when warm...

I don't agree that this has been well maintained. We all know that Rovers are, well, Rovers, but our 2016 (purchased used and possibly a weak maintenance history) at the same mileage has only one issue - a weak air compressor. I have a hard time understanding how the timing chain could be that...

    Control arm questions

I just did the Front LCA on the 2013 at about 85K a few months ago. Everything else is solid. I learned this diagnostic from this group: Drive at 1-2 mph, strongly apply the brakes. If it clunks, its the Front LCA'.s I have had issues in the past on other vehicles pressing in...

Depreciation Value for LR4 after accident

Personally I won't seriously consider purchasing a damaged vehicle. (My very first car was damaged before I bought it and I had issues for it's entire life.) But, based on your repair estimate I would think that CarFax would call that a minor accident. And based on what I am seeing for prices...

    Lr4 5.0 serpentine belt issue

Not much in the manual to go on, are you absolutely sure everything is properly aligned and routed properly? I just had my belt off for another project and when I double checked the alignment, the belt was not quite perfectly aligned on the power steering pump. Glad I caught it! Maybe your...

    Alternative Fluids

I'm not sure the dealership is always the best place to go. They seem to sell whatever they have laying around and it's not always the correct "gold-juice" as specified.

    Alternative Fluids

Many will disagree, but for the cost difference I always go with Rover OEM fluids. Sometimes challenging to locate but somehow always available somewhere.

When is it time to say goodbye?

Once they are paid for, it's just maintenance and gas, and those are always less then expensive than any alternative. I have driven all my vehicles until they literally die, with only one exception. It can be a long and painful goodbye, but it's a massive cost saver in the long run.

    2016 LR4 Intelligent stop/start not working

On my 2016, after I had allowed the old S/S battery to go dead for probably 6 months or so: For the physical bit, it's a simple swap. Just watch the connections/terminals on the new battery as not all batteries have the correct terminals. There is a "heat shield" that is attached to the factory...

Dealer does not recommend changing transmission filter...ever?

There is another string on this forum with a very long discussion of both the 6 speed and the 8 speed transmission pan/filter/fluid changes, it includes my detailed instructions for the 8 speed. The 8 speed is not that bad a job, but if you explicitly follow the Rover instructions for the refill...

    Water Pump Replacement - Preemptive?

I just finished my 2013 at 90K miles. It had a small very slow leak at the gasket/o-ring from the water pump to the oil cooler tube- the new parts are redesigned with a much more robust design. Everything else looked very good, but since I was in there I did everything - it's a grand case of...

2015 V6 coolant pipes done. Pics of old pipes

I am working through mine - at 90K on a 2013, V8. Both crossover pipes are good, water pump is good, but all are being replaced because it's a grand case of you might as well. I had a small seep from the gasket connecting the water pump to the tube that goes to the oil cooler. That gasket has...

    Weird suspension fault

We love our LR seat covers! Wicked expensive, but they really do the trick. The 2013 now has almost 90K, covers since day 1, and seats are factory perfect. Added covers to the 2016 when we bought it used, and seats look perfect as well. A great investment.

    Misc Clip Number??

The clip shown, per Rover and AB, is not available as a separate piece part. Anyone know if it's available anywhere?? Thanks!

2015 V6 coolant pipes done. Pics of old pipes

I am currently doing the crossover pipes and water pump in the 2013 at 89K. Pipes look fine, but we shall see what happens when they are removed- I have a small leak at the water pump due to a failed gasket. I am recording as I go, its going to be a rather long video as i am being detailed in...

    Particulate on Valves - HELP!!

I am most concerned about the loose particulate, I should have been much more careful to clean before I opened anything up. This old dog just learned a new trick! This particulate is sitting between the air intake and the valve covers - the clearance is so tight, I'm not sure it's even...
