Did you get any shuddering when it was jumping in between 3 and 4? If you don't have any maintenance history on it, I'd change the fluid and filter, reset the codes, and see if it comes back.. AFAIK, it gets expensive from there as I haven't heard of people working on these, per se(solenoids... -

+1 on that, my bet is that it came through the front. The radiator is pretty big, but I can't see how it could have got through the armor.. -
OEM Ladder fit
Looks good! I was thinking about silicone also, but I came to the conclusion that maybe there is no intent of this ever being watertight.. I definitely wouldn't want to trap water in there, so I let it go.. No brown streaks coming from under it when it rains.. Yet! Mike
