    Running Boards

I would keep scanning this list and Craigslist for some to come up.. There are lots of people who don't like the look of them, and have them removed.. I hear that some of the aftermarket ones are flimsy, but the OEM ones are solid.. In fact, I believe that for MY2013+ they were mandatory and...

Well that was the most annoying

Ha! I have been waiting in silence to tell my DMV story, looks like I missed the meaning!:stupid: Mike

    Interesting 1/4 rack option

The rack is shaped like a rectangle, so it wont reach the roof rails if it is set in the normal direction- it's too thin.. But if mounted sideways with the clips fully extended it fits like a glove.. The hardware on the rack is made to slide into grooves in the crossbars, it just so happens...

    Interesting 1/4 rack option

So I was skimming craigslist and noticed that some dude had a brand new small OEM Land Rover rack for sale. It is made to clamp onto the crossbars of a stock setup, but looked like it would not be of very good use as it would be hard to reach.. So I took some measurements to see if I could...

Well that was the most annoying

The dealership I bought mine at (600 miles from home in South Carolina) botched the title and then proceeded to mail it directly to the DMV in Kansas City, which has no process for receiving a title by mail. The title was lost for 3 weeks, and then needed to be reprinted in SC and then sent...

    Extended rack loose?

Thanks for the update.. You don't want that rack coming off...!

    Opinions on extended roof rails

I have heard that the non-OEM long rails will generate wind noise at highway speeds.. I have heard that the OEM ones don't, but $$$.. Mike

Advice on purchase of 2005 LR3

Look, I don't jump forums much, but I had to swing over from the LR4 camp and say this is a great thread. When I saw the hamsters I almost painted my monitor with Pepsi. Keep it going, Mike (still under warranty, but already sniffing out good shops)

    Rear window problem

Sounds like a switch to me.. Does this happen when controlled from the driver's seat switch and the rear switch? Mike

    Warranties

Safe Guard. Right after the bushings went bad, I went online to see what I was about to go up against.. Their reviews are -terrible-, so I was really biting my nails thinking I was about to get denied. To be fair, I've never seen someone praise a warranty company, and most of the negative...

    Warranties

There have been a couple of threads about extended warranties, thought I'd throw this out there: I didn't have the option of a Land Rover extended warranty, as I bought my LR4 from a Maserati dealership 800 miles from my home.. When I bought the warranty, it looked rather generic- it had...

    Lower control arm question

Thanks for the info, this looks like a solid plan.. Off to Atlantic British, after I get this crap off the garage floor.. Mike

    Lower control arm question

AAARRRG! This thread cursed me.. This afternoon I looked at the garage floor and saw the little black oil looking puddles. Smelled it, and it wasn't oil. One look under the control arms and confirmation was had. 2012 Lux, 52k on the clock. Looks like the wall art idea is looking...

    side step/protection beam

I put 'em on for the exact same reason- 2 kids going in and out of the vehicle. Couple of thoughts now that I did: Check around before buying from the dealer. Some folks -hate- the way they look, and pay places other than the dealer to take them off (the dealer can't remove them on newer...

    Dirty engine

x2 with the Simple Green and a garden hose. If you have a ton of dry sand and dirt in there you might want to get some of it out with a shopvac first, otherwise you will have a lot of mud to rinse out.. I have heard and seen too many horror stories with a pressure washer, tread lightly if...

    Trying to find torx hardware

Looking under the trim, and under the truck, it appears that I need all the hardware.. I called the Dealership today and got this: Since there is not a kit for the bolts, then you have to buy the side steps to get the bolts... I repeated that back to they guy, just so he would understand...

    Trying to find torx hardware

Is there anywhere to find the torx bolts that hold on the running boards? I have searched the FSM and online, to no avail.. Am I missing something? Thanks! Mike

Real world MPG on the LR4

Yow, that can't be! I drove from South Carolina to Kansas city and averaged 18.75, manually computed off of miles driven/ gallons consumed.. The dash told me 18.5, so pretty close to reality..
