    The 8 speed looks pretty good, it has 6th gear as 1:1. It also has a numerically higher first gear so it would feel like a power gain off the line after a swap.

    It sounds to me like your alternator isn't putting out enough amps. I'd replace that if it isn't already fresh. Or you could measure the amp draw during the problem phase and compare the result with the required amount.

    For the new Defender they need to evolve the system and add a city/country mode. It is convenient to get inside and have it already booting up with the lights on, but that isn't practical when camping.

    I mixed the Land Rover coolant with Dexcool and it seemed fine. Is there any damage that occurs from doing that? I actually liked it better with Dexcool because it has a stronger pink color that contrasted well with the reservoir and it was quicker to spot the fluid level.

    Check your t-case oil level. It could also be engine oil, its hard to tell. Feel up top in that first pic position and see if you can determine where else its wet to trace it back to the source unless the source is that cylinder looking feature. What part is that?
