Should I Rebuild?
The previous owner probably overheated the engine, then tried to cover it up. At this point the best path forward is a new reman. You can get them for $14k. I was ready to put one into my rig when I bought it in 2023, but it didn't need it.- powershift

Brake Fluid
If I were that worried I'd buy Land Rover brand and let them stick it to me. Fresh DOT 4 from a reputable brand is good enough. If I had a worry its the brakes in general because they don't work as well as I'd like. A big brake kit would fix that, AP Racing or Brembo monoblocks front and back...- powershift

Gotta say the winders in the LR4 are reliable asf so far. I was afraid to use them so much when I first got it 7/23. No problems with mine so far, including the sunroof which is used multiple times a day. Love that fresh air.- powershift

If anyone has idle, rev or WOT clips of their modified feel free to post them and your mods to the exhaust! ZF6 to ZF8 upgrade!
The gear ratios are numerically higher in the 8 speed so accelerating is going to feel like the engine has more power, especially in 1st. Transmission replacement on jack stands?
I haven't done it on an LR4, but I have on previous vehicles and it should be doable on your back. You'll want to rent a transmission lift and ideally a helper to see both sides when removing and installing.- powershift
