Has anyone reflashed their 3.0SC V6 aka Tune?

That SC tops out at 2.5x inlet pressure, from what I can tell. At sea level, that means it's capable of producing 36PSI. Does this thing have a wastegate? At 11,000', that would drop to 2.5x9.7, so still 24PSI max. But you'd have to rev higher to see the same boost, obviously. Or change pulleys...

Does low range automatically engage center lock?

I was trying to hook up to a trailer over the weekend, reversing up an incline. The unpredictable throttle response tied with the slop in the transmission made it pretty tough to go slowly. I kept wanting to switch the transfer case into low range just for the gearing, but worried that it would...

Has anyone reflashed their 3.0SC V6 aka Tune?

Thank you, @Fuji4. I confess I don't know how to read that map, honestly. And I didn't know there was an existing electric auxiliary pump as part of the stock plumbing. I gather that this pump was only part of your overall upgrade, which included changing the pulley ratios for the SC, as well...

Has anyone reflashed their 3.0SC V6 aka Tune?

This is more of a theoretical question than anything, but...the intercoolers on this LR4 puzzle me to begin with, and I'm curious what this electric pump gains you over stock, @Fuji4 ? I don't know how much boost these engines actually are getting from the supercharger, but if it's in the...

Rear Crossover (Heater Manifold) failure mode?

I would be sure to use all 4 of the bleed ports. If you only use the highest one, you risk missing a pocket of air in one of the other loops. They put in more than one for a reason.

Steady Check engine light and rough idle

Agree with intake plenum or hoses. Might be a coincidence that your PCV valve failed right after doing this work, but probabilities would lean toward not.

Steady Check engine light and rough idle

Hard to tell without codes to interpret, but I’d start with the simple assumption that something you unplugged to get all that work done did not get plugged back in right.

    Add Blind Spot Monitoring ? - 2016 LR4 HSE

LEDs are only the indicators. Are you saying the sensors are all installed, or the wiring is there and just needs the sensors installed, too?

    Thanks for the clarifications, all!

    DIY Oil Change for LR4

Thanks, @gsxr . The copy of the Service Manual I have isn't crystal clear: 10. Press the right-hand OK button and follow the instructions. (er...what instructions?) 11. Press the cruise control cancel button twice within 2 seconds. (Did that...doesn't seem to accomplish anything?) 12. The...

    DIY Oil Change for LR4

New-to-me 2016 SCV6 here, and one of the first things I want to do before putting any miles on it is to change the oil. So this thread was helpful. But I do have questions: Before oil change: "meter" in the Service menu suggested that it was completely full. As in the line went all the way to...

    Speedometer recalibration with IID Tool

I bet you're right. But if so, just hearing them say that much might make it so someone else picks up the ball and starts to put together a glossary or guide. Or, heck, that they could charge an extra $50 for the service and do it themselves. I'd pay that.

    Speedometer recalibration with IID Tool

I'm a UX Designer by profession. The sheer volume of low hanging fruit for UX improvement in the IID tool, given it's relatively small scope, is pretty staggering. And "help" like what @BriComp got above just adds to the confusion.

Is this leak coolant or transmission fluid?

    Water soluble or not?

    Refilling coolant system how-to?

I assumed that connector was to a sensor, not an actuator. And (wild speculation follows) one wonders if the plastic parts were designed to be used at the lower temperatures and pressures that the V8 thermostat makes for, and if that might have something to do with premature failures. Some of...

    Speedometer recalibration with IID Tool

Reviving this... Is the "Tyre size - MSB" parameter the ONLY one I should be changing? Also, you had changed it to 30, but from what? I feel like I'm reading conflicting messages as to whether that number should go up or down as the tire diameter goes up.

    Refilling coolant system how-to?

That's interesting, @jlglr4 . I wonder why LR would make that change? For fuel economy?

    Refilling coolant system how-to?

Didn’t really look for a YouTube on replacing the plumbing and thermostat. Take some pics before disassembly so you can have a reference, and only disassemble at the break points where the new “modules” have break points. But it would be pretty hard to mess up assembly. oh, and get hose clamp...

2016 LR4 Coolant Crossover, Water Pump, Thermostat Replacement

Your call, but with respect...I wouldn’t do that. Silicone isn’t intended for pressure, especially as applied to the outside of a part. And the cost of a sudden total failure is too high.

    Locker behavior questions

2000RPM does seem excessive in most cases, but then I'm not really sure. I have to assume that they did some homework on that choice, and when coupled with the accelerator curves they've chosen, it was the better choice. I do prefer a locker in the rear axle. I have the stock locker in the...

    Wiper Linkage/Transmission Replacement

I wasn't suggesting JB Weld or duct tape was ideal. But if the problem is already there, I found that it worked really well. And it's not exactly a life-or-death situation if it doesn't. (This from a guy in Oregon)

    Electronic Gremlins D4/ LR4

Maybe try measuring some other voltages that should be zero. E.g. between the alternator case and the battery negative, between battery negative and the chassis and engine, between alternator out and battery positive, etc. It might help you spot where something that should have no resistance has...

Oversize tires and pressures on- and off-road

I didn't spot that you were using 20" wheels, @Rover 4 . I think the general rule of thumb is to decrease pressure if the overall tire volume is increased. But calculating the volume of a tire precisely isn't easy. Your front and rear pressures being so close together make me wonder right there...
