Bracket cracked, causing ratting noise. Has anyone eliminated this shield?

Thanks. Ordered bracket yesterday, found one on eBay, cheap compared to LR. Figured I'd replace with eBay (dlzautoparts) bracket while I have the broken one welded. Was not aware of the foam, as foam was not on bracket.

I was curious about removing, as I thought LR did not put this bracket/shield on the earlier LR4's, maybe because of the plastic trans pan used on the 14-16?

On the L405 and L494 models. There is a bulletin to remove completely, the bracket and heat shields.
Those models, there is a lot less framing around the transmission.

Any trick/advice on how to thread and reinstall front driver side bolt on the bracket.

Removal of the bracket would leave one wire dangling about as it is supported by bracket. Craptastic engineering.

I just bought a 2016 L405, read the bulletin, I'll remove if/when it cracks and rattles like my LR4 did....unless removal allows for better airflow for cooling????

Check the Bulletin, I believe it addresses your concern...as it discusses retaining bolts for cable routing
