Seriously doubt it's owner negligence, especially on a vehicle less than 4 years old. Compressors are easy things that shouldn't fail. Hitachis have failed quite a bit.
New breaks if I go 17s, sourced from the UK. Same thing they put on the "work" trucks. I don't want to add rods, so can go BFG A/T on 18s, or BFG M/Ts on 17s.
No, even though I had late build 12, for some reason I still had the Hitachi. The compressor "internally short circuited" I was told. So, I'm hoping that is the end of it. Four more months of warranty to find out. ;-)
Fortunately, I was in town and not on the trails, and it's covered by warranty. It seems a bit early for a 2012 that sees moderate wheeling a few times a year. I noticed it shuddering a couple of times when driving short distances and coming to a stop.
Ramajama, you sound like you work for LR, haha. I do love the looks of the RR, but not evoque, RRS, sport or any defender concepts. We all have pressure points, but it just seems LR is hitting fewer and fewer of mine.
First photos and actual sighting of a sport and I couldn't help but notice...
Haha, have you seen the similarities between the explorer and latest RR products? And the sport looks like a cross between and explorer and dodge durango.
Peter, how did you get the Trico to fit in the rear wiper housing? I got the Trico Force blades and their housing is too wide to fit in the LR's rear wiper housing.
I had a similar experience with the GY AT Adventures, both with sidewall and GY replacing them...but it took some pressure for me to get them to step up. I think by now they would be getting tired of replacing the sidewalls.
Slight hijack, as I will be adding towing to my 12 LR4. I know that Ebay is the best place to get the new style receiver, I guess wiring kit from Atlantic British, and I was wondering if I need anything for brake assist and if I need to do anything to with the computer to detect the towing set up?
Dan, very similar set up to mine. I love that I can just pull out a couple of totes, table and chair and I am ready for camp. Being 5'9", I was shocked at how short the space is in back of the LC. Lived in Oregon for a couple of years and the outdoor activities/opportunities are amazing! The...
I was a bit too aggressive in a tight spot and banged the rear panel by the tail light. I don't know of any rear bumpers that would have protected that panel...at least not for an LR4 or LR3. If not for driver error, I would have been damage free.
