huh, battery is good, when i first used the tool the week earlier, no issues, battery good, just parking brake module errors. I was showing one of my kids it so they could understand if they needed to use. Did same routine as before and jsut failed. not sure i want to try again until i have time... -

no, according to the pdf you can have it in the on position, right before start or have it running. Tried both ways, neither worked this time. Not comforting on a $500 item if it kills using the vehicle. -

Ok, went to check on some things on the LR3 and plugged the gap tool in, truck was in on position. Right after I plugged the tool in the hazards flashed, suspension lowered, F on dashboard, all kinds of errors. Truck won't start, turn key off, remove gap, truck starts but all the warnings there... -

parking brake is the only indicator always on and then the engine system fault warning when it starts up. But they all say tide to parking brake module, which is why i wasn't thinking the brake switch would be related, but maybe it is. It's about $50 now for the part at british atlantic if oem... -

Really, but those lost comms seem to tie to the engine system fault that is always there, only thing that even pops up and then the hdc and suspension and cruise control lost, amazing if that one switch is the gremlin. I have not tried replacing the brake switch, would that be tied to the... -

Update: Received my GAP tool finally, spendy but seems to be well worth it. So it first time running it, 75+ faults, dating back to 2018, we just bought it in May. Cleared them all out, ran again and 15 came back, manageable. What I found interesting, and curious if anyone else has come across... -

Key Replacement - Sources
I have a question on this, we only have 1 key and need to get a new one, saw that Luck8 offers a key with the gap tool, but mentioned having to get it cut. Can any key place do that or do I need to go to a LR dealer to get the key cut? Thanks. -

Shifter light up?
Thanks, by any chance do you know why it wouldn't? I'm guessing fuse or possible lights out. Just trying to figure out a starting point on it. I get the D in the cluster, but not having it by the shifter made me think something was/is not working correctly. -

So talking with a local guy that works on land rovers, but apparently not a 2005 LR3 HSE, he likes them older. Anyways, his conversation about the trans fault that randomly happens is that it's probably a software issue since it doesn't happen every time and only happens when slow rolling. So... -

Wow, you have all the pdfs, thanks. Now do you know a good source for a new glovebox door? Latch is broke on ours and won't close, but it looks like the part that should hold to the hook area on the frame of the glove box broke off also. Not sure what the people before us did to this thing. -

thanks, tried the reset, no dice. not a fuse issue, at this point it's low on the list, it's not leaking, more of a nice to have, but mainly want to get the back door to lock so you can't get in from the outside, oddly it locks the inside and you can't get out. :D -

Thank you, much appreciated, found out the other doors weren't because the one didn't lock, then i opened and tried to lock right away. Seems like the system needs a brief reset before locking. did it again today, waited, then locked them all and tested, all the others lock now, just one door... -

Yeah, it's just the passenger side door on the driver side. Saw a few videos, actuator looks to be the issue, seen some diy solutions and then the replace it approach. Have to see which way I'm leaning towards at the time. Reminds me of the audi I owned, unique little issues would pop up. -
