    LR4 Binding Brakes

I have the same issue and have replaced everything, I am going to flush master cylinder and see if the left front port has debris or a bad seal. I may also look for a TSB with the brake pulling to one side

Can anyone identify this slow ticking noise?

Mine does that also and if you go to buy one there is a statement that these clutches tick for about 3 minutes. It could be normal. Does the fan free spin with a slight drag?

    MAF issues, reduced performance

Had a similar issue but the advice of running rich on one side and lean on another. I cleaned MAF both sides and Throttle body and added BG gas treatment. Ran a week on one tank of gas and the readings dropped to normal within range for both bank 1 bank 2. Possible dirty sensors or...

2016 LR4 - Rough idle but only when warm; worse when vehicle in reverse

The up stream and down stream O2s compares what is going into Cat. and what is coming out. There is some value the vehicle is set at. This may tell you if the Cat. is clogged or damaged.

    New 2012 LR4 owner!

I have a couple of quotes, one to fill in the area with vinyl liquid $200 and a second for re-vinyl the surface $350. The elbow wear is from lotion or skin care products which softens and degrades the vinyl. Panels new are obsolete and used ones are hard to find without the damage plus they...

Timing chain - advice - sigh

Your chain looks fine, my engine is noisy also. The fuel pump makes most of the noise and the injectors, well I have seen quieter ones (2000 Isuzu Trooper).

Timing chain - advice - sigh

I only have a fax report so it appears maybe they followed the once a year change by Land rover. It makes since because most engines use 4.5 quarts w filter so Land rover double the capacity and the oil filter appears to be much larger than an equivalent cartridge filter.

Timing chain - advice - sigh

You are getting close to the time to change. My car has 126,000 miles and the chain is getting some slack in it so I know the piston has dug into the aluminum arm. I change my oil at 7000 every time so the oil myth is just a myth. I believe it is just a poor design and I do not believe the...

Timing parts purchased are quite different

The angle of contact was changed by land rover due to the initial engineering design flaw with the tensioner arm. I bought a set of LR and they are stamped FOMOC Ford motor corp. As to the quality, you may get a good part. I have experienced that some of LR parts are of questionable quality...

Looking to buy this LR4, but rattle at cold start. Goes away when warm...

Oh yeah, you might want to have them check the rear steel brake lines for rusting out at the frame mounting point. I recently replaced the 2 front calipers due to a sticking issue which caused the car to pull heavily to the left above speeds of 65 mph only during raining condition, weird. But...

Looking to buy this LR4, but rattle at cold start. Goes away when warm...

This sounds reasonable price for all of the work. I was quoted $9k just for the chain guide job in Richmond Va. Another shop thru a forum member gave me a shop and they wants $7k. I have purchased all of the parts, special tools and will be doing the job myself, minus replacing the VVT...

Looking to buy this LR4, but rattle at cold start. Goes away when warm...

Hello, I have a 5.0 L 2011 LR4 and I have a slight rattle from the tension arms wearing (chain are not stretching) but it does not sound this loud. Look in the valve cover oil fill neck and see if you can take a long flat tip screw driver and flex the timing chain. The car performs well but...

Air and newspaper noise on cornering -> Air strut bad?

I have recently had an issue which sounds similar. I found a rock stuck between the inside of the rotor and the dust shield. I have a gravel drive way.

    The Great Engine Oil Debate

I have used the Castrol Extended performance (20,000 miles guaranteed) with the titanium additive. I have been using it for almost 35,000 miles with a STP high performance (10,000 mile guarantee) and have had no issues. Here is the link for the oil...

    2005 LR3 Brake line replacement

I have the same issue on a LR4 2011. In 2014 LR came out with a fix, splice into line above the muffler. PN: LR056967 LH Rear, PN: LR056968 RH Rear. I have attached the TSB. No body lift required if the damage is in this area.

    Problem when locking the car.

I had this problem also when I bought my Lr4 2011 used. Long story short, I found all doors locked but the one that did not work (front passengers side). I replaced the electronic locking mechanism in the door and the issue never occurred again. PN:LR091350 rt front door

Yes you can buy a replacement pcv LR133579. Plastic cap must be removed by lifting six tabs and prying up on cap at the same time.

    LR4 front fuel pumps

The job requires the right side items in the engine compartment to be moved. Remove fuel line etc., similar to a timing chain job but can be done with a little patience.

Check Engine Light and Fault Codes

I currently have P0172 Bank 1 rich. I cleaned the sensors and it returned within 1 mile of driving. I have ordered 2 PCV valves because a stuck open valve will allow more unburnt gases than normal and richen the right side. If that does not fix then I will move the sensor to the other side...

I have read that slotted rotor have a high tendency to crack at slots and hole. Maybe a problem for such a heavy vehicle.

    Shaking brakes

I have had the same issue with a 2011 LR4 and had the rotors turned due to hard spots in the disk. The problem disappeared for about 7000 miles but returned. I replaced the disk with a Wagner brand and the problem has not return. I examined old disk and it appears the OE disk had imperfection...
