    LR4 compressor guard options?

I have a Prospeed LR4 compressor guard I'm selling. Never installed. Let me know if you're interested.

    5.0 v8 timing chains

55k had them done at the dealer under warranty. Very brief chatter on startup. I was thrilled they did it. Oil changed every 5k miles so I’m skeptical it has anything to do with oil. I think the failure at low miles has actually been the tensioner ratchet mechanism which is designed to keep...

    Land rover hitch adaptor alternative

Voyager makes one: https://voyagerracks.com/land-rover-lr4-rear-hitch-receiver I have one, good quality made in the USA.

    Cooper Zeon LTZ

I had the Coopers for about 25k miles and they got really loud after 15k. Could have been less than religious rotations... They’re beasts off road though and for that price I’m really tempted to put a set in storage.

Differential, transfer case, driveshaft ... Your guess?

Which heat shield was it? I’m chasing down a similar sound.

    the LR4 19inch tire dilemma

I’m running 40/42. Seems fine. I was always getting more outer tread wear on the fronts than I’d expect.

    the LR4 19inch tire dilemma

Just put on continental terrain contacts. Very happy with them so far. Obviously the noise level is great compared to the cooper xeons which became unbearably loud but with still had a ton of tread left. No off road use yet but I think they’ll be decent for everything except the mud.

"Ping" sound from engine when cold

I’ve had the same sound on very cold mornings. I’m fairly certain it’s related to the fan clutch. There was a thread a while ago and it was the fan clutch. Also if you lookup ticking fan clutch on YouTube you’ll find various makes and models with the same noise.

Prep for Timing Chain Guides Work

I just had the timing job done under warranty. 2012 with 52k miles. I had a few seconds of chatter at startup. Runs probably a little better than before. Dealer had it for three days. I was looking at what was involved doing it myself and it’s a through dismantling of the front of the truck...

    Roof Rails

Thanks for the feedback. They’re really only going to be used for a roof bag at this point and maybe twice a year. I’d like to have a reason to get a full rack but don’t have a good one yet.

    Roof Rails

Andbody have any experience with the eBay/Amazon knockoff roof rails? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MFB18UC/ref=mp_s_a_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1510839470&sr=8-10&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=lr4+roof+rails I’m looking for a black set. Thanks

    Ticking sound

I would guess timing tensioners. Do you a chatter at start up? I’m at 52k and have start up chatter. Timing system getting replaced now.

    Brake Pads

I have about 2k miles on Hawk LTS pads and feel is about the same as stock with basically no dust. Some slight squeaking at very low speeds but that could be my rears too.

Cooper Zeon LTZ Off-Road tires on Stock 19" Wheels

I agree. The noise is acceptable for a few thousand miles. After that you can’t say they’re anything close to being quiet. I have about 15k on mine with plenty of tread and can’t take the noise much longer. They are unstoppable off road though.

    LR3 4.4 V8 vs LR4 5.0 V8 reliability?

Some 5.0 have had timing chain guide issues. It's not catastrophic but not cheap to fix. Water pumps are another issue. I haven't heard of any other weak spots on the 5.0. Check out RSW solutions on YouTube. He has a two part series on the 5.0 timing chain issue.

    Hidden Winch - Voyager Racks

I looked at the hidden winch setup too. Looks clean and the integrated skid plate looked nice too. Their sliders were much superior to the Terrafirma ones I just put on.

Slider Comparison; anyone used either of these?

I just installed a set this weekend with no modifications on a 2012 LR4. However, they do make minor contact with some hose clamps on the passenger side and an A/C hose connector on the driver side. It wasn't enough contact to prevent them from raising into place so I didn't modify anything...

For those of us that miss the Pirelli ATR, check out this new tire...

Those look great. Interested in a review. I need another option after my Cooper Xenons are done humming.

    the LR4 19inch tire dilemma

I run 255/55/19 Cooper Xeons. I have about 7k on them. I find them a bit loud and will probably try to find something quieter when they wear out. They're unstoppable off road though. I'd be interested to see reviews of the new Continental ATs.

    LR4 Clicking Noise from Engine

I'm confused. Was the ticking noise the fan clutch, then you had the timing chain done? I guess it's possible you had the ticking noise then the camshaft code was thrown. Two unrelated issues. I haven't heard the ticking since those sub 20 degree mornings.

    LR4 Clicking Noise from Engine

Interesting. I would not have guessed a cooling fan. I'm going to send a video to the dealer to see if they have any thoughts.

    LR4 Clicking Noise from Engine

5w-20 synthetic. I've changed the oil once muse and once at the dealer.
