I did my first oil change with the Mityvac last weekend. I got Castrol Professional OE 5w20 from my LR dealer for $11 a quart. As others have said, easiest oil change ever.
I was planning on just using Mobile 1 and doing oil changes every 5,000 - 7,000 miles. I was going to use 5W-20, but I can use 0W-20. Think that will be a problem or should I go with their recommended oil? I hate to pay that price though.
Has anyone done this on a 2014 or 2015 with the SCV6? I'd like to give it a shot rather than take it to the dealer and just want to be sure that nothing is different before I order all the supplies.
The navigation/touch screen system is fine. The only time I find it slow is when i'm navigating music on a connected ipod.
I have experienced much worse systems in previous vehicles. It's not as good as the BMW iDrive that was in my 2010 135i, but I like it better than the Audi MMI system...
I need to look into a good inexpensive set of wheels that will allow me to mount some winter tires. I don't mind switching wheels in the winter. I used to do that with my BMW a few years ago. Any recommendations?
This is exactly how I feel. It's an overblown issue. There is no thud. No long delay. It works smoothly. It can be disabled at any time with a button press on the dash. People just like to complain.
So, if you are in gridlock traffic and you don't want the start/stop cycling every few feet you move, just turn ECO off. It's just a button press on the dash. Problem solved.
I just saw the "TPMS System Fault" warning briefly one day last week on my '14! My VIN is in the recall range. Thanks for the heads up. Love this forum!
The engine only shuts off when you are fully stopped with your foot firmly on the brake pedal. There cannot be too much power load demand on the car from the AC, radio, other accessories, etc. or ECO mode won't come on and shut off the engine. If you let up slightly on the brake pedal while...
The ECO Mode start/stop works so well that I've gotten used to it and hardly notice it. It doesn't interfere with daily driving at all in the least bit for me.
I don't like the change to the wood trim on the doors. I would hate a wood steering wheel. I wouldn't want the running boards. I wish my '14 I had the InControl Apps, the new User Interface Panel, and the Adaptive Cruise Control.
