    FYI: SCV6 cylinder numbering

Sorry I never responded to this. In the end, in August ‘22 the #3 cylinder failed somehow, scored the sidewalls, blew oil, engine was toast. Warranty spotted larger tires than OEM and canceled my warranty, putting me on the hook for nearly $20K. Took forever to get an engine from the UK (via...

    Howto: DIY LR4 Alternator replacement

I would've purchased it had I not been pressed for time to replace it. It's been great on the LR3. And if you have an SCV6 LR4, idle output is 160A and 320A at 1200 RPM lol.

    Howto: DIY LR4 Alternator replacement

I’ve had the high output alternator installed for a couple years now, works great. Just finished the replacement alternator on the ‘13 and it went great despite all the oil mess lol.

    Howto: DIY LR4 Alternator replacement

I am replacing my alternator just now in my 2013 after it failed to due an oil leak on the right side of the engine. I am assuming it's the valve cover gasket, though maybe I didn't torque the oil filter housing correctly. Also, remember that these are smart alternators and will not always be...

Rivian SUV thoughts? Looks like an LR4

I have a reservation for the R1S, from 2020. I’m hoping to be able to get the 410+ mile range pack though, which isn’t offered yet. I figure that range is what’s needed at a minimum to go remote. I’ve driven the R1T and it’s amazing, so I’m hoping the R1S is even better.

    Second Battery Installed in LR4

I ended up doing this mod to my buddy’s 2011 LR4. Worked great. I repurposed the horn bracket by flattening the mounting points to marry up with the mounting points of the TCM. I relocated the horn on the aft-inboard side of the battery box. Thanks for the insights!!

    Air suspension shock replacement

The first time was hitting p ot holes too fast. The back end slammed hard and created pin hole leaks. That took out both rears. But the most recent time I was on a pretty smooth trail going about 10 mph when I went over a rock with the left rear. The momentum I had cause the back end to jump up...

    Air suspension shock replacement

The only redeeming value of Arnott is that they have a lifetime warranty. I've blown out three now, a two buddies have blown out a few as well. OEM is THE BEST air spring option. 3 of my 4 air springs lasted over 200K miles.

    2013 LR4 - P0087 Fuel Rail/System Pressure - too low

That TSB gives BK the blessing. In the end, my issues was a pump, because if it was clogged injectors, changing the pumps would not have resolved the problem.

    2013 LR4 - P0087 Fuel Rail/System Pressure - too low

That error code was one of my high pressure fuel pumps. Diagnostics can’t tell which one so I replaced both of mine, and yes I also replaced the tappets. The pumps are in the vicinity of the alternator. I loosened the rigid lines instead of removing them to be able to remove the pumps. They...

    Brake Pad Rattle Advice

Great info. So weird that my Green Stuff L319 is fine but my Yellow Stuff one are not.

    Brake Pad Rattle Advice

Interestingly, the EBC clips and shim that came with my Green Stuff pads work great, I’ve never had a rattle issue like I do with the Yellow Stuff pads that didn’t come with the clips and shim. Need to find a couple sets.

    Brake Pad Rattle Advice

This may be what I’m experiencing on both my LR4’s after swapping to EBC rotors and Yellow Stuff pads. I noticed that they didn’t come with the EBC shims like the ones that my LR3 kit (with Green Stuff pads). Coming back from the same trip as CRYA (though I didn’t last as long due to a tire...

    Timing Chain replacement

That was the year they caught the guides wearing out and incorporated the new parts. Are you actually hearing timing chain slap or anything? Or are you just doing preventative? $4400 is about right. ~$1500 in parts and the rest is about 20 hours of labor.

British Car Service is great, as well as Stewart’s. I’ve used Stewart’s and they’re fantastic.

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

I have the hex socket head bolts on mine and if you use an 8"+ allen key socket with a ball point, it makes accessing all the bolt heads super easy, especially if you've raised the transmission 2" or so. It was a gamechanger for me.

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

You don't really, but it's SOOOO much easier to remove even the two piece pan and loosen/tighten the bolts at the front of the pan.

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

I have the two-piece conversion in my LR3.

    DC to DC charger install

Not really, as the Traxide system relies on the alternator to charge the battery. LiFePo requires a different charging profile (I believe a constant 14.5A) unlike an AGM battery, and the alternator on the LR3/4 is a smart alternator and varies it's voltage output. In the end, I suppose it could...

    DC to DC charger install

I'm installing a hybrid Traxide/RedArc 1240D setup, to charge a 100Ah AOLithium battery and power accessories. I won't be using the smart isolator from Traxide yet, but I will later to be able to charge the start battery from the aux battery. Also installing a Lensun 110W flexible, hood mounted...

    FYI: SCV6 cylinder numbering

FWIW, I ended up isolating the issue to a bad fuse, that hasn’t blown, but when I swapped the fuse with another, the EAS started barking. Swapped for a new fuse a voila, the truck actually pulls now and doesn’t feel so bogged down. Unfortunately, damage to the left cat has already occurred...

    FYI: SCV6 cylinder numbering

Great info, I’ll check these items out as well. Attached photo is what Topix attributes the P026A code to and what lead my down the aux pump path.
