Hello, could you also share which $11 BT adapter you purchased and any details / instructions for removing "factory aux switch and associated circuitry"? Thanks!
We have the Deployable Side Steps installed on our 2009 RR SC but haven't replaced any pieces yet. LR p/n for the whole kit is VPLMP0041 but I'm not sure if you can order specific components. Maybe check with your local LR dealer?
One of our passenger side brackets is slightly damaged...
Just curious how fast everyone has driven their Disco 3 / LR3? I've hit 80-90 MPH on stretches of highway and it's amazing how quiet & smooth my 2006 HSE is with nearly 120K miles on it!
I spoke with my Rover Sales Guide over the weekend and he confirmed Discovery 4 / LR4 production in the UK is set to end next month, with the new Discovery 5 going into production shortly after and it will available in the US this fall.
I second that; Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus tires!
I've had two sets on our 2006 LR3 HSE, the first set went over 50K miles which is nothing short of amazing for this Land Rover!
NAVTEQ finally released a 2013 - 2014 DVD Navigation update for the LR2.
Does anyone know if one is coming for the LR3?

We now have a 2007 Range Rover Supercharged in addition to our 2006 LR3 HSE, so I'm looking to buy a Tow Recovery Strap in case I need to pull one of the vehicles out at some point. Is there any reason not to buy the official Land Rover Tow Recovery Strap? (p/n STC8919AA)...
Our paperwork from the dealer shows p/n XVJ500420 for the newer Bluetooth module. I did some quick research and it looks like it's still a Nokia module, just newer than the original. I think the LR2 had the Motorola Bluetooth module.
Our 2006 LR3 HSE had the original factory Bluetooth module (made by Nokia). That module didn't sync phonebook contacts and had compatibility problems with newer phones. We had the LR dealer replace it with the new Bluetooth module found in 2007+ LR vehicles which adds phonebook sync and fixed...
I just used a Silicone Spray Lubricant, such as this...

I sprayed some into the cap and used a q-tip to wipe it around the inside edges of the 2-piece door handles. (top & bottom)
All,
I noticed our rear sunshade is now saggin and loose above the 3rd row seats. It's pulled shut, but it won't retract. Has anyone had this problem? Is this a cheap or expensive repair at the dealer?
2006 LR3 HSE w/ 51K
I initially had the same problem on our '06 LR3 HSE and finally figured out it was the fake plug. Now we just keep our iPod cable plugged in and that works too.
Wow!
It's amazing how easy it was to cure those creaky door handles on my LR3 with a little silicone. All four in 10 minutes! I asked the dealer about the noise several times in the past and they never suggested a fix, they just said it was normal. The doors and vehicle actually "feel" rock...
Update
I dropped our LR3 off at the dealer yesterday morning and they were unable to duplicate the problem (there's a surprise!) after driving it for two days. They said the battery tested good and that no faults were recorded from Sunday when they did diagnostics. So now we have to keep...
While driving our 2006 LR3 (w/ 39K miles) today, several system faults appeared on the information display; Transmission Fault, Suspension Fault, HDC Fault, Brake & ABS Lights and then the vehicle lowered automatically. I stopped, restarted the vehicle and everything cleared. 5 minutes later...
