Land Rover hasn't updated them since the 2011-2012 Map DVD. Since they changed the NAV systems after 2009, I doubt they will come out with a new update DVD. -

You don't need to remove any covers. The DVD Player has an eject button. -

No they don't require any registration. You can use it in any LR3 and 05-09 RR. It has to remain in the DVD player in order for your NAV system to read the Maps. -
