I have had the Blizzaks on an X5. Used them for dedicated winter tires. Absolutely amazing in the snow at Mammoth Mountain. Get them off the truck once the snow stops as they will wear like crazy.
I have Duratracs on the LR4 and like them, but I don't believe the 255/55R19 is a "snowflake"...
I get a "pop" in the front end when making a right turn onto a street in my neighborhood. Major off camber turn on a hill and I am guessing it is just putting the front end drive train at max angles. I hope its nothing.
I don't have this option on my LR4, but wife's X5 has it and it uses the cameras to create a view as if you are 20' above the vehicle and looking down. Helps her park...
Good brakes has to do with disappating heat efficiently. Front brakes are bigger because of this. Also, front brakes do the majority of the stopping (think back to your BMX days). excessive rear brake wear could be due to the electric nanny of stability control if you drive that way. If the...
Tire wear is also a major concern. If you permanently raise it, you should get the vehicle re-aligned. Have you ever seen the positive camber to the wheels when it is in off road mode?
My sat radio loses connection all the time. Quite annoying. I compared the locations where it goes out with my wife's BMW and hers doesn't cut out.
I haven't taken it to dealer as I am sure they will blame it on the sat signal and Sirius will blame it on the antennae. Most likely a no win...
I had a terrible time with ASFIR. Front sump plate was smaller than OEM and had a 2" gap on both sides. Went back and forth with US ASFIR rep and Urban off-road for over a year with no resolution. Cannot recommend thier product at all.
I had a mirror "crudely removed" overnight in the parking lot of a hotel while on a road trip recently. I believe the dealer did the replacement of the entire mirror assembly (metal arm, mirror and cover) without taking anything apart inside the vehicle. I think once you get the mirror cover...
Even though they say no break in period, it still needs to be done. Just like "lifetime" fluids need to be changed. I usually make sure to do a lot of city driving with mixed highway to vary engine speed. No towing and I wouldn't set off on a road trip, put the cruise on and sit there for hours...
