I had a bad experience. I brought my Land Rover in for an oil change and sunroof leak repair. I learned on a Friday that the repair would take a few days but the oil change was completed so I picked it up for the weekend. When I picked it up the vehicle was running rough so I checked the oil. Not only was it still dirty but it was overfilled by 3 quarts. They paid to have it towed back to the shop (which is good) then they kept it for another day to remove the excess oil, denying that they had ever touched the vehicle. Upon picking it up (so that I could take it to the LR dealership for proper service) I was greeted with a bill for the diagnostic service ($108). In my opinion, this is a business being run with little integrity and less concern for customer service.

Thanks CPerez, I will try Independent LRS.
Yes, I paid them for the diagnostic work. They had to bring in a specialist to look at a simple roof leak. Apparently none of the staff at Arlington MotorCar (a self described land rover shop) knows anything about land rovers. Pretty sad.

plancha1, the guys at ILRS are very knowledgeable and friendly and they enjoy talking about Land Rovers with customers-- or at least with me! I stopped by there a few times to chat before taking my LR4 in for service and they impressed me. So far I have been working my way up to more involved service visits. They have done tire and brake service for me so far with good results. They are willing to educate their customers and spent a lot of time getting into the details to help me make informed decisions. I like 'em. If you decide to try them, feel free to use my name (Chris Perez). What model LR do you drive?

PS: ILRS shares space with a Liberty gas station. They have a fairly small lot but it is always crammed full of LRs of every flavor: Discos, LR3/4, RR, Classics, and regular appearances by Defenders, too. I enjoy stopping by just to look at the hardware!

Board needs updating- I'm in the Northern VA, DC area.
I'm going to British4x4 in Springfield. So far so good. I had front lower control arms replaced and the mechanic walked me through everything while lr was on lift- we spent a good 20 mins going through the suspension and what to look for.
I've used one other shop, in Chantilly, won't go back there. Had tools left in the engine bay- Thanks for the probe!

Still recommend British 4x4? Looking to do a pre-purchase inspection - looking at either these guys or ILRS in Bethesda.
